Yep, I'm bored
Choke on this
8-2 in the last 10 games. The starting rotation looks like it's worked itself back in shape. -- I have more confidence in this team right now than I've had all season.
I'm sure that Boston fans are salivating at the prospect of facing Jose Contreras in game 1. -- Good. They have no idea what they are in store for. -- I hope the Boston hitters feel the same way. That's the perfect set up for a complete game 12+ strikeout performance.
ALDS Roster
Outfielders (5) -- Podsednik, Rowand, Dye, Everett, Perez
Infielders (7) -- Konerko, Iguchi, Uribe, Crede, Blum, Harris, Ozuna
Catchers (2) -- Pierzynski, Widger
Rotation (4) -- Contreras, Buhrle, Garcia, Garland
Bullpen (7) -- Jenks, Hermanson, Marte, Cotts, Politte, Vizcaino, Hernandez

Viz/Duq over McCarthy
I think they feel that a start for McCarthy in a seven game series might be less risky and allow the other starters to be rested regardless of the length of the alds. It also means they have no plans for an El Duque start.
The bench may be one of the worst ever for a playoff series. Coming into spring training, every one of them -Harris, Perez, Osuna, Blum and Widger - was iffy as to whether they would make a major league roster. Can you guarantee they will be on one next year?
They will miss Gload's bat

that precise analysis aside...
Gloads career BA is +30pts and OPS is +30 than that of Blum; +20 and +80 (!) on Timo and +10 and +100(!) on Pablo O.
None of these guys are Gold Glovers. This bench is pathetic offensively and Ross Gload is the best of them

Umm...
I'll go out on a limb and say that nobody who posts here has seen the White Sox win a title.
No sentimental BS. Go with your best 25 guys. Period.

I went over to...
Reading too much Boston self-love reminded me about how much I really hate the Red Sox. I liked them last year, the whole curse-ending thing was fun...but hey, it's easy to win when you're spending that much money. Us against the world is lame when you're spending $200 mil.
Loveable losers to hatable winners...go take 'em down boys.
(oh...and I took part of the day off today so that I'll be home to watch the game after all)

Anyone else getting anxious
Here's to a big series from Podsednik, because let's face it, we're a different (read: better) team when he's on his game.
