White Sox vs. Indians -- 6/03/05
Orlando Hernandez makes his return to the mound after coming off the DL tonight. Starting for Cleveland is Jake Westbrook.
Pre-game reading
- Jim Margalus of Chicago Sports Review has a great piece up on Timo Perez. My favorite part?
Strengths: Speaks three languages.
Weaknesses: Baseball. - With the draft fast approaching, Alan Schwarz has column looking at the best and worst selections at each position. The White Sox make the list on both the good and the bad side of the ledger.
- Finally, Chris De Luca writes a column on the contentious relationship between Frank Thomas, the White Sox organizatoin, and the fans.
Take it for what it's worth. It's an entirely accurate portrayal of Thomas, Ozzie Guillen and Kenny Williams, I just question the intentions of writing such an article. To me he appears to be laying the groundwork for Frank to be the fall guy should things go awry this season.

Wow! Cheat, are you sure you didn't write that?
Timo may be a team player, but given the picture he should be the odd man out. He's the team's sixth-best outfielder, the 15th-best hitter and the 23rd-best first baseman, give or take a couple of spots. On a team that already has precious little firepower, there is simply no use for him, and the case for that is brutally as plain as day. Whether Sox management will put common sense above mentality is another case all together.
4-0 Good guys
Hopefully El Duque will make it stand up.
