Thoughts from an Indians fan to CWS nation

If the Indians beat Buehrle tonight, I'm afraid that the Sox are finished. Don't get me wrong...I don't say this because of one team playing better or worse, about games remaining, about "momentum", about logic, talent, or anything like that. It's just that if the Indians actually beat Buehrle, you will know that you are up against something much, much greater and more sinister than 9 guys on a field and a bullpen. You are up against some odd destiny, some cosmic misalignment, because, as we all know, the Indians never touch Buehrle...can't beat him...ever.

Mark these words: If Casey Blake gets a hit off Buehrle, just turn off your sets, pull the plugs on your radios, or head for the parking lot...because that will be the sign.

You may be right...
But your team is not facing the MB of the season's 1st half.  As MB is not facing the same Tribe...
It should be called Bill Veeck Park!

so much for signs
blake homered off buehre to lead off the 7th, but the sox won anyway.
i've learned alot about signs.  last year when the red sox were down 3-0 to the spankees i had this revelation that if the red sox somehow came back to win, then john kerry would beat george bush.

we all know how that turned out.

The secret of all victory lies in the organization of the non-obvious.

i wish you were right
and I was wrong

My...did the Indians hand this to you guys, or what? Handed you, that is, the opportunities, and you took them all. Nice game.
Now you go ahead and win the division, and let's hope we can hold off the Yanks / BoSox for the wildcard (don't like the sound of that)

Crazy season
that this is, we'll just have to wait and see who wins the division, the wildcard, etc.  nobody can take anything for granted & tomorrow is another huge game.  Along with rooting for the sox to win, my other great passion is rooting for the yankees to lose...how is it that those bastards are in contention with that pitching staff?

Did not take them all
There were two innings where the Indians were saying, "Here, win this one so we can sell out the final weekend series," and the White Sox threw it back in their faces.

I'll take this victory, and see you another tonight.

There's a good truck stop in Michigan City that carries lots of Kleenex for the ride home.

I hope you're stocking up on a few
I used to live in Chicago, and I know how cold it can get on an October night when all you have to look forward to is your Sox anno. 2006.
