So, I'm starting to get the feeling that the Sox starters don't have much trade value. The Brewers just traded Doug Davis for Johnny Estrada. Davis is at least as attractive as any of the Sox starters other than McCarthy (maybe less talented than a couple, but cheaper and left handed). In fact he's probably more attractive given his salary.
Assuming the minor leaguers are a wash, Davis brought back a single player, a good-hit no-glove catcher whom had demanded a trade. Given that, I'm thinking the market for the Sox starters is probably weak.
I've read several threads at BTF where fans of other teams have suggested that Garcia could bring back a player the caliber of Eric Byrnes, but that's it. And that if the Sox want Danks from Texas, it would take at least Garland and Anderson to get him. I was doubtful this was a good reading of the market at the time, but now I'm thinking it might be true. Any thoughts?
