Kenny's moves ... pitching depth ... what's next?

White Sox:

SP: Buehrle
    Contreras
    Vazquez, J
    Garland
    McCarthy

RP: Haeger (Long/mop-up)
    Boone
    Aardsma
    Thornton
    MacDougal
    Jenks

Charlotte:

SP: Gonzalez
    Floyd
    Sisco
    Phillips
    Broadway

RP: Vazquez, C
    Reynoso
    Perez
    Farnsworth, J

This presumes that Tracey is still deep in Ozzie's doghouse and will be moved.

It also means we still have McCulloch, Egbert, Harrell and Long as SP at AA.

I'd love to see that one more move be Garland for Rios!   Let Haeger and Floyd fight it out in spring training for that 5th spot.  Hall could catch Haeger if need be.

We still need a LF'er...
Farnsworth and Reynoso will never be on the White Sox.  Farnsworth is a geezer and Reynoso has no control.

And I think we would be getting robbed in a Garland for Rios trade.  Alex Rios is good but may not be the great player he showed in the first half of last season...

Alex Rios (Pre All Star break):  .968 OPS
Alex Rios (Post All Star break):  .709 OPS

If Ryan Church can be had for less, I would rather get him.

Rios had a strong September
after recovering from his staph infection.  He can play either corner position as well as CF - and plays defense very well.  He will only be 26 when the season starts.

I agree that Farnsworth and Reynoso will remain at AAA ... It was not my intention to indicate that they may be major league ready.  Simply that they will be at AAA pitching in relief so there is no need to move any of the AA starters to AAA to pitch in relief.

Ideally, Kenny trades for Rios and then gets the Nats to trade their OF in the apparent doghouse, Church, for the Sox OF in the outhouse, Pods.

But that is really dreaming ..

Yep...
if Kenny even goes after an outfielder, it will just be a LF/CF.  We aren't getting two guys.

By the way, our 25-man roster looks to be full right now...

Buehrle
Contreras
Vazquez
Garland
McCarthy

Haeger / Floyd
Logan / Sisco
Aardsma
Thornton
MacDougal
Jenks

Pierzynski
Hall

Cintron
Crede
Iguchi
Konerko
Ozuna
Uribe

Anderson
Dye
Mackowiak
Podsednik
Terrero

Thome

BUT, Luis Terrero signed a split contract just like Ozuna last season.  He will earn $410,000 if he's on the major league team and only $78,000 if he's in the minors.  I'm not so sure Kenny is going to make another move for an outfielder but he will have a roster spot available if he chooses to send Terrero to Charlotte to start the season.

Baldelli.
The sox could keep all the young pitching. Yet some guys may be at their peak values.

If the DRays need to make a move, the sox have the depth. Esp. if the sox got Baldelli, they could move both Pods and Anderson for arms to replace some of the talent they trade away.
