Anderson getting demoted?
Tribune article from Mark Gonzalez hinting at it being a possibility. Not too excited to hear this. Mack as a permanant option in CF is bad, Pods in CF is bad, Ozuna or Gload in the OF is bad. I don't like the options, unless somehow a good CF could just fall into our laps. Unfortunately that doesn't seem likely.

BA is not losing the Sox games
Yesterday's loss was more a product of Guillen pitching Nelson 1+ innings when he could have gone to Jenks instead.
No one aside from BA in AA or above can replace his glove. And he sure isn't going to learn to hit only facing a lefty like Sabathia every 7 days or so. If Guillen is really done with BA (and tonight the Trib said the games in CLeeveland "could be Anderson's final chance"), they need to trade for a CF, not play Mackowiak.
The Sox have been playing mediocre ball mostly because Vazquez, Garcia, and Garland have pitching mediocre. After that, the bullpen has been pretty bad (Politte, Cotts, and the departed Logan). Demoting BA, lousy average and all, doesn't fix that. Honestly, you could make a better case for starting Cintron over Uribe than Mack over BA. At least BA has been walking some.

indeed
our team is good enough to be able to carry one guy who doesn't hit much above his weight. i think ozzie may be deciding that guy is uribe, not BA.

uribe v. BA
OBP for BA: .276
OBP for JU: .239
of our apparent starters, uribe is .100 below crede, our next lowest starter.

Uribe's Pass
The other reason he gets a pass is his amazing defensive post-season, highlighted by the last two out of the WS, which earns you something in this town.
His pass won't last forever though, so I HOPE he turns it around soon.
