The NL is awesome

So just how bad is the National League this year?

Counting the 3 early games today, the AL is 55-26 against the NL in this recent week of interleague games.  The AL teams are averaging 5.7 runs per game to the NL's 4.1.

The Sox and Tigers are a combined 10-1 with a run differential of 103-37.

Even AL pitchers are better at hitting
A couple nights ago Baseball Tonight showed the interleage stats, and in addition to the huge margins in wins and runs scored, AL pitchers had 3 homers and 11 rbis vs. 0 homers and 1 rbi.  And that was before Nate Robertson got a ribbie last night.  And lets not forget recent ALer Bronson Arroyo's two dingers off Glendon Rusch (and incredible success pitching against lesser competition). What a joke the NL is these days.

last night
i had the stl. guys on the extra innings package, one of them took umbridge at a column someone in Chicago had written that day about the dominance of the AL. I kept waiting for the reasoning but he just listed the 3 NL wins from that afternoon and trailed off. I think the NL is the JV league this year, I hope the yanks/sox (AL all stars) don't mess up the all star game and give away home field.

It is what it is...I didn't take offense when
people said the NFC was the weak conference this year because the Bears were in it.  It was too obvious that the AFC was superior to allow any hometeam bias to get in the way.

The same applies to baseball right now.  For whatever reason, the AL is head and shoulders above the NL in terms of talent.  There's no need to get defensive about it just because you root for an NL team.

Good comparison
I think more Bears fans (at least that I know) felt fortunate to be in the NFC because it was the difference between possibly not even being in the playoffs (SD didnt make it - that's how good the AFC was) to potentially playing for the Super Bowl if they played well in the playoffs.
