I know everyone here is probably tired of hearing about Ozzie, but there's an article in the Tribune where Mariano Duncan says that Guillen might be hurting the chances of other Latinos getting hired as managers and Guillen fired back saying Duncan will never be a big-league manager. This made two things very clear to me:
- The media is not going to let go of Ozzie. They will keep asking other people about what he says, write inane articles asking psychologists to analyze him, and keep the "controversy" alive. They need to fill column and airspace, and I think it's also a power-trip for them.
- Ozzie needs to have a thicker skin. He has to realize that someone bugged Duncan for an opinion, and published with it a sensationalistic spin ("Guillen hurts Latinos!"). He needs to stop lashing out, and just let it go. If he keeps attacking people, if he can't handle the pressure, he will eventually be fired. And that will be shame.
