There was a thread over at John Sickels site asking for your team's best all-time lineup. At that time, no one had taken a shot at it, so I figured I would. Here was my team:
C - Carlton Fisk
1B - Harold Baines
2B - Eddie Collins
3B - Robin Ventura
SS - Luke Appling
DH - Frank Thomas
OF - "Shoeless" Joe Jackson
OF - Magglio Ordonez
OF - Albert Belle
SP - Mark Buehrle, Red Faber, Ted Lyons, Ed Cicotte, Ed Walsh
It was tough, because with some guys, I had to strike a balance between peak as well as length of years with the Sox. The only guy above who didn't spend a good deal of time with the Sox was Albert Belle, and that's because his years with the Sox (or at least his second year) were freakishly good (upon posting this, I realize that Dick Allen's three year period with the Sox was actually better than Belle's -- he should probably be on the list over Belle).
I think I got the starting rotation right. All had reasonably long careers with the Sox, and all were reasonably successful.
If we wanted to, we could expand it to a 25-man roster, but that'd take a good twenty minutes or so (at least).
I didn't miss anybody glaringly obvious, did I?
