Note: I haven't heard this myself, but a Soxtalk.com poster has heard it and it has apparently been confirmed.
I didn't make a whole lot of predictions at the beginning of the season. One I did make, however, was that Sean Tracey would end up being an effective part of the 2006 bullpen. I'm glad to see Tracey get a chance. More importantly, as Cheat has noted a couple of times, Tracey will get a good half-a-month to work with Don Cooper.
I'm not saying he's going to come up and be our Scot Shields. But he's got the 'stuff' to succeed -- he's got some real good movement on his pitches (fastball/slider guy, IIRC), and many people have given the 'rubber arm' description to Tracey. Even if he can give us 2005 Luis Vizcaino type numbers, I think every one of us would be thrilled, and it'd mean that Montero/Nelson would be gone.
As soon as I get the press release from Whitesox.com, I'll post it.
