What if Aaron Rowand remained in CF?
Just a thought. Would the Sox be in a better position having not made the Thome for Rowand deal?
No question both teams have benefited. But what if the Sox had just kept Rowand and Everett? Rowand and Everett currently have a combined 20 HRs and 66 RBIs compared to Thome's 31/80. Granted their BAs are lower but how many games have been blown, by the Sox, due to defensive lapses in CF? I know it is more than a handful. Now most have not been by Anderson, but even Anderson at times looks tentative.
The White Sox miss Rowand big time. How many of Thome's HRs have been game winners? We lose his services in NL parks. I have nothing against Thome but we need Rowand back.

You CAN'T be serious...
Based on Win Shares...
Everett - 2 WS
Rowand - 6 WS
Anderson - 2 WS
Thome - 18
Not even close.
Everett is putting up a .666 OPS. Do I even have to tell you how bad this is? His OBP is below .300. His slugging percentage is below .375. Scott f'ing Podsednik, OUR LEADOFF MAN, is having a better year.
How many of Thome's HRs have been game winners?
What the hell does this have to do with anything? And,either way, how many game-winning homers did Rowand hit for us last year? Did he even hit one? Thome had that one against St Louis -- that's without looking at every game and seeing where his homers really helped us.
We lose his services in NL parks.
Yeah, I mean, we sucked in those NL parks, compiling a 7-2 record without the DH -- damn, man, if we had fuckin' A-Row, we'd've won like infinity-to-nothing and gone 9-0.
Without sounding too much like an arrogant jackass here, I've seen some bad posts, but this one, without a doubt, takes the cake.

Since June 11:
.315/.362/.466, 5 BB, 9 K
Rowand:
.202/.287/.339, 6 BB, 25 K
Not to mention the Phillies are 44-50, after winning 88 games last year. That's not entirely Aaron's fault, it goes to show that one average player doesn't make that much of a difference.
