As an aside, Reifert also explains that Ozzie only got to choose 3 All-Stars after the fans and players' votes. He ended up taking Konerko, Buehrle, and Jenks. Konerko is the only real first baseman the AL has and because somebody needs to play the field, ended up a more logical choice than Giambi or Hafner. I don't think anybody could question Jenks' selection. As far as Buehrle goes, before yesterday, I don't think anybody would have questioned that one either (sorry to you Skankees fans stumping for Mussina).
