White Sox vs. Devil Rays -- Garcia vs. Fossum
Freddy Garcia (12-8, 4.99) vs. Casey Fossum (6-5, 4.91)
The Irresistible Force vs. Immovable Object
- The Devil Rays are 1-20 in their last 21 road games. Their last road series win was in June against he Phillies, who, as we all know, play in the NL, so that shouldn't even count.
- Big Game Freddy hasn't considered the D-Rays a big game since 2002, posting an 0-2 record with a 5.87 ERA in his five starts since he deemed the Rays unworthy of his effort. He was 6-0 with a 2.72 ERA in his first 9 starts against the flat sharks.

Maybe they need to create a new stat combining FC & DP to show how an unturned DP affects a game.

Any computer techs out there?
I type in my username and password, and the game comes on, but it freezes, and then plays again for a second or two, and then keep on freezing.
I tried calling mlb.com, and I got two different answers. One was that I needed to download the latest Flash player, and second that my internet connection was too slow.
Here's my problem with those answers -- I've been using MLB.tv perfectly fine for the past week with ZERO problems. So, why now? And, how can I check how fast my internet is going? Because I'm able to surf the internet without any 'slow-downs'.
Any help? If I kept talking to the people at mlb.com, I would've said something I was going to regret.

MotherFronter
Let's not
I would like to point out that, if the Sox win this one, that would be a W without a quality start.
It's a line from Reservoir Dogs
On a related note, anyone notice how this site is a huge sausage fest. To be expected, no doubt, but still an observation.
Patience!
The Cubs game just ended on WGN. The Cubs blew a 4-0 lead in Pittsburgh, then went up 6-5 in the top of the 11th. In the bottom of the inning they got what should have been a game-ending double-play ball, but the second basemen couldn't catch the throw from the shortstop and the tying run scored. After intentionally walking Chris Duffy to load the bases, Ryan Dempster then walked in the winning run.
Cubtacular.
Spit on my grave, please.

This talk about DFAing Cotts needs to stop. Take some ludes or something, perhaps have a refreshing beverage or seven, and relax. If this shit happens in the last week of the season, however, I'll be joining you on that ledge (in full WS '05 gear).

I think the A's are kidding themselves
The only way I see him sticking with the A's is if they foolishly put a 4-year deal on the table. Frank has said that he wants to play until he's '42', which would require a 4-year contract.
Nobody's going to give him that contract length guaranteed.
