Baseball Prospectus' prospect guru concludes the article stating, "The White Sox system is a bad one, as the drop off in talent after the first five prospects is sizeable. While Kenny Williams' trading ways have played a factor, some of the most boring drafts in recent memory play a larger one."

Just dismal...
I don't feel qualified to suggest anyone get canned, but the results in player drafting/development have been pretty poor over the course of the last 5 years or so.
Hmm...
I won't touch on the position prospects, as we're severely lacking in that area, but I'm liking our pitching depth. I'd say that you can argue about Gio being just a 'good' prospect. He was young for his league, pitched in a bad park (for pitchers, anyways), and still showed great stuff with awesome K/9 numbers. His command obviously lacked, but I didn't call him an excellent prospect. He has his flaws but you could definitely make a case for him being bumped up one.
Anyways -- getting back to my orginal point, I really like our depth. The two lefties are very solid, and then there's some potential back-of-the-rotation guys in Broadway (who has done nothing but have success) and Haeger. There's also a couple of high upside 'wildcards' in Floyd and Sisco -- if either of those two live up to their 'hype', the Sox will be in a very good spot. The bullpen is already young and still has more young guys knocking at the door in Perez and Logan.
The draft approach needs to change, but to the Sox' defense, they've done a bit better with their first round picks lately. McCollough is still an unknown, but Broadway, Fields, and Anderson all look to be pretty decent considering that they were taken in the latter half of the first round.
One thing I'd like to see changed is for the Sox to exploit their relative fiscal advantage in the draft. Fine -- the free agent market is overpriced, I think everybody can agree on that. But you can get some 1st round talents in rounds (~) two-through-seven just by offering more money to those guys with 'signing issues'. The Yanks do it, the Red Sox do it -- hell, even the Cubs did it last year with Samarzdjia (sp? -- although that was sort of a special case) -- the White Sox ought to be doing the same.
The international scouting also needs to improve, specifically in Latin America. Let's hope that the Korean (?) kid we signed earlier this winter for pretty decent money can amount to something.
