Chris Stewart is gone
According to the Newberg Report:
The Rangers have traded AA righthander Johnny Lujan to the White Sox for catcher prospect Chris Stewart.
Lujan apperas to be nothing special going 1 - 4 with 5.74 ERA and a 58/43 K/BB ratio in 69 IP for the Bakersfield Blaze in California League (Class A - Advanced). Hitters had a .281 BA off him and his ground out to fly out ratio is not paticularly spectacular at 1.55. More on Lujan
"And his fastball sat at 97 mph.
When guys like Lujan-with big raw arms but not much of an idea of what to do with them-start to figure it all out, they can explode ... There's never really been any doubt about Lujan's essential talent. The question about Lujan was, and is, whether he can harness his excellent stuff and learn to control the strike zone. As Lujan continues to refine his approach and improve his control, his extraordinary stuff and deceptive delivery should allow him to go all the way ..."
It appears the Pale Hose picked up another fire-balling young RP - who is much more raw then the other recent pitching pick-ups.
