Out-of-towner sox viewing poll

This is one for..... the expats.

The new season's right around the corner and for the White Sox junkies outside of the broadcast area, it's time to start renewing the various methods of getting one's fix.

I was just wondering how the rest of the diaspora gets their Sox on. I have no dish, so it will be an MLB.tv premium subscription and XM for me. What, if anything, do you use to keep up on the Sox? Multiple choices are a-ok. Mention your own if I forgot it in the poll.

Well, multiple choices didn't work

so I offer you my ways of keeping up with the Sox.

Options 1, 4, and 5.

I refuse to pay MLB any money directly by way of mlb.tv or MLB extra innings because I think those two products are overpriced.

Last year it via the Sox Pride Club on the PC ...

This year I received XM radio for Christmas so where I listen will be a tad more flexible.

Now that I can't get extra innings on dish network

Ill miss alot of other games but with a basic channels package and the sports package (really not expensive at all and includes comcast chicago) the only games I think I will miss are WCIU brodcasts.

what happens to WCIU on dish network?

from what I understand dish network has the games on CSN and CSN+ yes? what happens when the games are on WCIU?

maybe dish doesn't allow people outside chicago to sign up for the local chicago channels so no WCIU?

And they wont let you have a subscription address different then your mailing address, I already tried. Still I might get those games on the other fsn or comcast networks. I just won't be able to tell when theres been a sox HR or opp. team K.

Stupid cable

Until this year. After lots of back and forth thinking, I'm leaning heavily towards just watching updates on the internets and nationally broadcast games. Looked at MLB.tv, but the price tag was bigger than I remember. Wasn't it something like $50 last year? I really hate to reward their more exclusive approach by shelling out $90.
Besides, we've got a new Sox fan coming in August and I understand that they sometimes cost money.

Last year it was MLB Extra Innings, this year i'll be watching Mlb.tv Mosaic on my apple. None of my friends are White Sox fan who live near me, so I'll discuss the game in the SSS game thread.

were you able to get a beta? i've been wanting to give it a whirl but i haven't bought my 2007 subscription yet and the main download page says not available until 4/2. any word on if it will work for ST games?
