New Closer...?

Being a die hard White Sox fan and a big fantasy baseball fan, I can't help but wonder who it is that will replace Booby Jenks. I don't think he will go with RoboThorton, he is struggling and ozzie like to use him in a matchups too much....

I am putting my money on Mike MacD, but before i went and used a bench spot on him I was curious as to what the SSS community thought...

Who will be closing for this team in 2 weeks... when booby goes on the disabled list? (sidenote why is booby using his curve so much.... he kept throwing that thing whenever he was ahead in the count and todd walker was sitting on it both times he threw it.... todd freaking walker ladies and gentleman)

Id put my money on Jenks

He was tired yesterday and the reason he throws the curve so much is it is effective. He wanted it in the dirt. As far as your squad I wouldnt bet against Jenks. I like the fact he has multiple pitches. He will never be a Nathan type (era wise) but he will get 35+ saves.

...no, tired from being used in 5 out of the 1st 7 games, that's why...and let us not forget that the opening game in Oakland Jenks was in there in a non-save situation--POINTLESS, Ozzie!

it's the big picture.... while i agree he looked good (results wise) i can't help but be worried that he lost 8-10 mph off of his fastball.... he used to touch triple digits on occasion... now he is touching 93 on occasion... running his cutter at 90 and his curve at 85.... bobby used to have that 100 straight gas... 96 cutter and 88-89 curve.....

not unusual

for a pitcher to not have their peak velocity early in the season. i'd give it a few weeks before saying he's not going to get it all back.

cheat said....

i almost feel like i am tattling to my mother... but cheat een said that jenks velocity is a concern.... i just have a bad feeling.. he lost weight and all the other hub ub.... but i he still throws 93-94....
i mean felix Hernan is throwing 98.... does this mean he will be throwing 106 when the season starts..?
