feelings on the cubs

It seems there are many different feelings about the Cubs among Sox fans, I have friends who don't care and root for the cubs when not playing the Sox, and I have friends who hate every living cubs fan.  As for me I like the rivalry and like making fun of Cubs fans, but its not bitter hatred.  I actually love beating the Indians almost as much as the Cubs buts thats more of a personal thing.  What is your take on the rivalry?

Good poll
I actually only root against the Cubs when it becomes annoying. I could really care less how they are doing now or most pre-ASB games, but man if they are in contention and the Cubs fans start getting all rilled up and the girls jump on the bandwagon, that's when I root against them.

I used to care...
about the Cubs, when I was a kid.  Now that I no longer live in Chicago, and especially now that the Sox have a World Series title under their belt, I couldn't care less if the Cubs win or not.

I think as I've grown older
I care less and less about the Cubs winning because, at this point, I've collected enough empirical evidence to know that they never will.

A little subtler...
I think their continued ineptitude is funny, but I don't actively hate them.  Having seen a number of games over a number of years, it seems like year after year they feature the same approach:
  1. Possess an above average amount of talent
  2. Squander it through mental blunders, unique physical weaknesses and general bad luck.
  3. End up 5-10 games worse than you probably ought to have played.
Really, it couldn't have been more perfect that they signed Soriano.  To use a college football comparison, they're the Michigan State of baseball.

dislike/hate them
I have never liked the Cubs except for when "Rookie of the Year" came out. I just like some of there players from time to time such as Sosa and Lee. My main problem is the Cubs fans. Some of my good friends are idiots and they feel the Cubs are the best team in the league every year while most Sox fans are just realistic. AND of course their belief that Bartman is the only reason they didn't win a world series before us.
WHAT'S a Chuck Liddell?

Wrigley
My favorite thing about that place is whenever a Cubbie hits a fly ball the crowd screams in unison like a girl, hilarious.  There's nothing else like it in sport, must be a Cubbie gene that changes your voice or something.
