Charlotte Knights photo/video requests (updated)

Hopefully the Cheat won't consider this spam, as I'm pretty much C&Ping the same thing from my site. I'm just trying to provide a service, is all.

At any rate, if all goes well, I will be catching the Charlotte Knights in action three out of the next four days. The plan is to drive to Syracuse this evening, and then hit Saturday and Sunday's games in Pawtucket as well.

As usual, I'll be taking plenty of photos and video, but this time I'm thinking to ask ahead. If you have anybody you'd like to see in action, or would like photos or video to put to names, let me know. Feel free to demand whatever, and I'll try to accommodate everybody as much as I can, within reason.

Unfortunately, the double-doubleheaders against Rochester earlier this week have screwed up the rotation. From what I can tell, it's either Lance Broadway or Charlie Haeger starting tomorrow. If the five-man rotation holds, it'll be Heath Phillips on Saturday and Gavin Floyd on Sunday.

Wassermann: Videos here and here. Here's a list of photos; I used a half-dozen photos to put together his delivery.

Anderson: Videos here and here. Numerous photos are in the gallery.

Floyd: Scouting report w/ video. I combined a bunch of clips for a highlight reel of his best pitches.

Robbins: Video here, and two photos.

It wasn't too bad

seems like there is alot of stuff to learn. I was confused as hell playing it. I finally got a new 360 the other day which ended up costing me 60 bucks after the trade in. Now i gotta resubscribe to Live. I've been using the 48 hr cards

A big request, maybe impossible...

I'd like to hear details of what was/is troubling BA's shoulder, and if he's progressing (healthwise). Barring that, and vid of him would be great.

Looks like Sunday

will be Gavin's last start in AAA.

The White Sox have a double header scheduled for a week from tomorrow against the Twins. They have no off-days in between now and then. Friday would be Gavin's day to throw for Charlotte.

Regarless if a trade happens between now and then, I'd put money on being able to watch Floyd make his first start in a White Sox uniform next friday (probably against Matt Garza)

New Acquisition: Jake Robbins

Jake signed last weekend, hasn't pitched in the minors since last Sept. He pitched on Monday, 1 inning, 29 pitches, 0 runs, 2 BB, 1 hit. He's a ground ball pitcher, good velocity on his fast ball. Would like anything you can provide, including a scouting report. He's a family favorite and we're unable to see his games since we live in Texas. This guy has done everthing possible this season to stay sharp, while waiting to be signed by the Sox. I hope his efforts and positive attitude pay off. He's also a Charlotte native, so being with the Knights is a real plus for him. Thanks for you help.

We'll see what happens. I've experienced server outages/lags before, but I can't detect any problems. I just tried posting a comment and did so without issue.

Mine is doing the same thing

I was able to see the Richar & Floyd videos but that was it and I'm on my home computer. But thanks for the videos, you did a good job and I'll check the rest out later

I've never found

that I've been unable to reach your site, but I occasionally get what I would call hung up. My browser just keeps spinning and nothing comes up. I hit the back button, re-click the link, and usually everything works...

a general scouting report on Richar's defense? You made a note after the first game, but nothing since.

Because he didn't get a single chance. It was pretty much all flyballs and strikeouts. Not even so much as a relay.

His hands looked solid, and while he seems a little long-legged for a second baseman (he's not that tall, more talking about his gait), he didn't trip over himself. Throwing accuracy is the main concern, but I'd give him a chance to stick there.

He's up to .327/.353/.592 at Charlotte after a 2-for-4 night. Jim, I haven't checked the scouting report Cheat mentioned -- I'll be doing that immediately after this post -- but did you comment on Richar's speed? He's already got four triples for Charlotte (eight total).

I really hope the Sox found a 'gem' here. If he could even provide average production at second for the Sox, it'd be a big coup for the organization. His .846 OPS this season for a second baseman is certainly much better than average for the position -- let's hope he's turned a corner this season.

He's got some wheels

He scored from first on a double to left on the game I saw, and I have video up there of the last 90 feet. I don't know if it'll translate into steals, but he's not going to clog the bases.

By the way, how bad is our farm system...

when we get a lesser prospect from the Diamondbacks' farm system and he is instantly our best infielder prospect and looks like he will be our starting second baseman next season? Pretty sad.

The D-Backs are pretty stacked...

with prospects, and you never can tell who's going to pan out. Remember that the Angels didn't think that Bobby Jenks was worth anything, and the Diamondbacks let Dan Uggla walk.

Sure, there are always diamonds in the rough...

but my point still stands. Even before acquiring Richar, we should have had some infielder prospect who was rated higher than Richar, even if Richar turned out to be better.

Thanks for getting all the great shots. Hope you enjoyed yourself! I heard the comebacker out that Jake Robbins got during the broadcast Sunday and thought how great it would be to see it and there it was. Very cool. I sent the link to his HS coach, who worked a lot with him until he got signed.
