We're
Cintron... sexy.
Too bad, I wanted to see him play first base!
Also... is that right? .251?!
Ugh.
I forgot... Erstad was our best contact hitter and now he is gone
Ah, ok.
Thank God for that...

Perhaps,
And, just another random thought...isn't it depressing not to see any glimmer of hope from Sweeney or Anderson down in AAA? They don't have horrible numbers, but not really anything at all stands out to make one even remotely excited about either of them.

Uribe walked!
And he's still....
I read something interesting today...
I'd never thought of this before, but as far as wins above replacement goes, the good bat/average glove player is always more valuable than the poor bat/great glove player.
Meaning, even though Uribe is great defensively, he only get's a few balls hit to him every game, and a good portion of those are routine plays that any competent fielder makes. However, he comes up to bat 4-5 times a game. His impact at the plate is much greater than his impact in the field.

Owens is the only guy
Damn, man, a little patience. Mmmm, mmmm, patience.
about ten games from now supposedly
Next year he is replaced
At best, Owens is a 4th outfielder. Not useless, by any means, and he deserves a roster spot, but doesn't deserve to start every day. Not IMO.

Good stuff from Charlotte tonight.....
- Josh Fields (as previously noted by others) not in the lineup and hopefully heading to Chicago.
- Gavin Floyd with 8 great innings.
- Aardsma with a perfect inning (2Ks)
Oh man
Is the Jerry Owens area nearing an end?
No other way to put it.....
Dude has no pop...

Anyone going to the Charlotte game Saturday?
Shouldn't be much different from watching this White Sox team.
Tonight in Charlotte -
Gavin Floyd worked eight shutout innings.
David Aardsma retired the first five batters he faced, then gave up a single, then a walk, before striking out Pedro Lopez to end the game.

I was looking at the BB/K ratios, and the Hits.
No, 3 runs in 7 1/2 isn't bad, but to move up to the next level he needs to be dominant.
I was just hoping you'd say he went 7 1/2 2 hits, 1 BB, 6 K's, and 0 ER's.
Then I could say, "Get Charlotte on the phone"

KW is doing a lot of talking, but IMO he's completely handcuffed by this crap team. He can't make a trade because he's got no bullets, and they can't release or bench anyone because the minor league replacements suck.
The only thing he and Ozzie can do is the same thing we do - bitch and moan. And it has just the same impact as us bitching - nada.
Agreed.
by The Jerry Royster Experience on Jun 5, 2007 9:13 PM CDT up reply actions
Who can you trade?
Iguchi? - FA, won't bring anything
JD? - same
Konerko? - expensive, showing his age, won't bring anything in return
AJ - nope, no other catcher
Crede - nope, crippled
Podstad - crippled and they suck
Uribe? - you might get Neifi Perez for him
Thome - expensive and old, might be the only trading chip of value. But if you move him this pathetic offense can only get worse, as if that's possible.
What a mess.
I'd go ahead...

Ah, right.
If you want to have an opinion regarding relief-pitcher usage, buddy, you better have been one of the 0.1% of humanity who was born with the reflexes, coordination, and muscle to make a 25-man roster.
And discussing lineup cards? Trades? Defensive arrangements? Look, I understand that it looks like Joe Crede isn't hitting particularly well. And you might be able to point to hoity-toity "statistics" that might suggest you're on the mark. But listen, buddy. If you yourself can't hit an 88-mph slider down and away, then how could you possibly tell whether or not Joe Crede can?
In fact, I think this entire forum is off the mark. Here we're all sitting around, discussing baseball, happy as you please, and yet we aren't professional baseball players! The nerve of it.

And, once again, 3 runs.
Cleveland is having a Sox '05 year - we are having a Cleveland '06 year.
We utterly suck in all phases of the game except (less sucky) our starters and closer. Hard to know where to begin to fix things. How does one eat an elephant? What's the priority? Bats? Middle relief? Defense? Health?
Sigh. I need to give this up for a couple months - I need to be studying for a board exam and instead feel like Al Pacino in "Godfather III". Someone shoot me and put me out of my '07 season misery.
