Hey, I'm fired up too!
We actually played some good baseball for what seemed like the first time this year against the Tigers.

Did we get spoiled by the Sox in 2005 and the first half of last year or what?  Watching anything less then excellent baseball has become very painful.

I really miss those kinds of runs
We used to be automatic in 2005 in those situations when Pods got on leading off.

There was a lot of discussion about leadoff men, but there's definitely something to be said about that good leadoff man with speed.  Getting that cheap run across to take the lead in the first inning is demoralizing for the opps.

Must be from college.

AMC?
Are you watching the "Cool" movies on AMC? Last night they had Bullitt and Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story.

Watching Bullitt revived my love for Steve McQueen's films. I am going to have to watch the Great Escape again. What a great movie...

by ChicagoPete on Aug 7, 2007 9:05 PM CDT reply actions

How about this Wasserman?
I think it's time for some self-back patting
Wasserman's overall numbers and minor league track record aren't much to behold, but he possesses a funky right-handed delivery that has held righties to a .113 average this season in Charlotte and a .566 and .551 OPS the two previous seasons in Birmingham. He could be a very effective ROOGY, which most teams don't carry because of bullpen size. Since Ozzie has no problem carrying 7 relievers this year, I think Wasserman would be my second pick for the reinforcements.
(Egbert over Masset was my first choice.)
