BEING NOT A GOOD MANAGER BUT A GREAT MANAGER

my dearest BRICKHEAD OZZIE:
in order to be the best manager you have to have an unbiased truthful evaluation of your players.. when you pick your lineup for the day's game, YOU MUST PUT THE PLAYERS ON THE FIELD THAT GIVE YOU THE BEST CHANCE TO WIN THE BALLGAME.. so many times you lose sight of that simple objective.. especially when you exhibit your obvious  prejudice toward BRIAN ANDERSON.. this guy is a much better player than JUNIOR or  DEWAYNE WISE.. why you never used him down the stretch WAS A DISSERVICE TO BOTH THE OTHER PLAYERS ON THE SQUAD AS WELL AS THE FANS.. you did everything the way you wished.. how did that work out?

ALTHOUGH I CAN SEE IT COMING & PREDICT  THAT YOU WILL DO EVERYTHING IN  YOUR POWER TO GET BRIAN ANDERSON SENT OUT OF TOWN.. LOSE YOUR PREJUDICE & ENCOURAGE KENNY WILLIAMS TO KEEP BRIAN ANDERSON.. THE DOWNSIDE  WILL BE WHEN HE GOES ELSEWHERE & BECOMES THE ROCK-SOLID EVERYDAY PLAYER HE SHOULD BECOME HERE IN CHICAGO.. THEN EVERYONE WILL BE LOOKING AT YOU & ASKING THEMSELVES "HOW COME HE COULDN'T PLAY FOR OZZIE!?!?.. SOMETHING MUST HAVE BEEN GOING ON OVER THERE!!"

QUIT BEING A WEENIE & PUT YOUR PETTY JEALOUSIES & PREJUDICES ASIDE.. PUT YOUR BEST PLAYERS ON THE FIELD.. THE RAYS WERE BEATABLE.. YOU JUST DIDN'T GIVE  THE TEAM THE BEST CHANCE TO WIN.. I HOLD YOU DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR INJECTING A DEFEATIST ATTITUDE WITH YOUR "EVERYBODY PICK  US FOR 3RD OR 4TH SO I DINK WE DOIN POOTY GOO".. YOU NEVER MENTION THAT  YOU  FAILED TO PICK THE SOX TO WIN.. WHICH WITH A $120M  PAYROLL YOU ARE SUPPPOSED TO EXPECT A CHAMPION.. YOU HAD NO CHAMPIONSHIP EXPECTATIONS OF YOURSELF INSTEAD YOU SET YOUR GOAL & EXPECTATIONS WAY TOO LOW.. AS A RESULT WHEN YOU FELL A LITTLE BIT SHORT, YOU WERE OUT OF THE PLAYOFFS RATHER EASILY.. below is the most important part of this email..   you are shooting a rifle at a standard target. in order to score maximum points, what do you aim at? A: THE CENTER OF THE BULLSEYE.       i NEVER  get that answer.. instead i get "the bullseye." then the hitter asks  "so what's the difference?"...      THE DIFFERENCE ILLUSTRATES A PLAYER'S  IGNORANCE OF THE POWER OF        BEING GOAL SPECIFIC  AT ALL TIMES ON THE FIELD FROM PITCH-TO-PITCH.

if you aim  for the bullseye, but are off   just a little.. YOU ARE OUT OF THE BULLSEYE!!..  if you aim for the   CENTER of the bullseye & are off just a little bit, YOU ARE STILL IN THE BULLSEYE.. one answer is OK, but NOT GOAL SPECIFIC ENOUGH TO MAXIMIZE   YOUR PERFORMANCE SUCCESS   RATE..

the sooner you figure that out as a manager (sure as hell never figured it out as a player,, that's why you ended up being the mediocre unremarkable player you were).. the sooner you will maximize your OWN  success rate & be regarded as a top echelon manager.. which we all know you are FAR too stupid to make that happen.. so keep stumbling along like you are.. ignorance is bliss

BRIAN ANDERSON

OZZIE first exhibited is pro-latin prejudice when he tossed backup C CHRIS WIDGER for his good buddy, 41 yearold SANDY ALOMAR, so he cold get a coule months of extra MLB paychecks at the end of the season.. when no one else needed an overthehill C, BIRCKHEAD OZZIE did.. the guy was totally useless.
as a manager, you must be fair minded & even handed with ALL your players..when you sit players who are playing well for no reason other than you have a personal problem with them, you hurt the success rate of the team.. that is the description of a weenie.

Last I heard, Toby Hall was Venezuelan

Why else would he be doing the shaving cream pie thing in all of the interviews?

clearly.

TOBY HALL is not MOLINA

A. J. wore down big time last year.. hitting behind DYE, THOME & KONERKO he had the grand total of 50 RBI.. URIBE batting 9th had 70.. so KENNY did a smart thing & got a catcher who can catch AND hit..,, then BRICKHEAD OZZIE doesn’t use him anyway!!.. so A>J> could do the same thing as last year.. 60 RBI in 500 AB.. URIBE had 40 in 180 AB..
A. J. was helpless and hopeless at the end of the year because he was gassed.. nice move using your backup C..brickhead.

Chris Widger

was no where to be found when he was catching that day and the coaches need to go over the opposing team’s line up. Ozzie took a 1 offense to the playoffs (missing 2 all-stars and a potential ace down the stretch). Yeah what a moron! As far as BA is concerned and this prejudice towards him, watch this www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GPUHGYX2kI

How do you like your new purse(s), Mrs. Anderson?

Also, did Brian ever buy a coat? He said he thought he did, but I don’t know how you can be unsure about it.

So...

I still really wanted to know what teams were asking about Anderson, and how you knew he was the most coveted player by other teams?

by Grinder in Training on Oct 10, 2008 3:47 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Not enough caps lock, italics, bold. Sorry, GIT, your question will not be answered by the Wizard (aka KINGCOACH)

I’m wondering if he coaches a baseball team made up of royalty from Spain, England, etc. that, by law, couldn’t call themselves the Royals.

BRIAN ANDERSON

i listen to WSCR .. several interviews with chris deluca, mark gonzales, joe cowley.. all writers for either the suntimes or tribune… guys in the locker room on a daily basis.. these guys all have spoken about their whatever pipeline they have to the GM’s office..
& other teams asking about BA.. the guy never got a good shake from OZZIE since he flopped in 06. but he definitely shows me some excellent progress.. especially whe you consider he never started more than 3 games in a row all year.. VERY tough to get in a rhythm or hit with any consistency on a schedule liek he had.. mark my words.. ANDERSON will probably get kicked out of town.. but when he does, i expect him to flourish under new management somewhere.. thenyou’ll be saying “gee whiz, he sure would look good in CF for the SOX”.

I'm a fan of Brian Anderson

But at the same time I also have the ability to read.. and occasionally I use it, I’ve read the majority of what those writers have to say, and have the Score on at work half the time. No one has ever said Brian Anderson is the most coveted asset of the Chicago White Sox.

BRIAN ANDERSON

there’s 12 hours of baseball talk during the day.. you can’t tell me you listen to every minute.. i know i heard more than one reporter of the newspapers saying that the FIRST guy other teams ask is about is ANDERSON.. expect him to to go.. obviously he is not the most coveted guy.. but he is the guy other teams think has the best chance for improvement on their team.. it is obvious to one and all BICKHEAD OZZIE can’t stand the guy.. but he will shine elsewhere… SOON!

Did somebody say rhythm?

Uh, yeah, BA is not the most sought after commodity on the team. Nice try though.

don't ge me wrong, I like me some BA and he is a real centerfielder

he just doesn’t have the on base and breaking ball hitting skills necessary to be an everyday CF.

And I agree that it would be great to trade BA for an everyday CF, but such is life. If the Sox can get through this year with Swish in CF (assuming Dye and Konerko stick around), they’ll be able to bring someone on board in 2010, prospect or otherwise. Not the worst thing I can imagine for the team.

I think there may be something here

But it has nothing to do with race or Ozzie being dumb or whatever. BA probably has some trade value, some small market team could probably benefit from letting him play ever day. At worst he’ll play great defense, get in 140 games, and hit like 240/290/410 or close.

Not ideal by any any means but cheap and decent enough for a young player with some upside.

that said, the sox were better served this year with Swisher in CF and BA off the bench. You’re right, he flopped horribly in 06 and he finally put together something halfway respectable at the plate in limited time this year.

by madvillian on Oct 10, 2008 7:14 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Swish was horseshit the 2nd half, and his D sucked in CF, too.

Plus, he hurt himself in CF only a week or two into the season. Not a great decision to put him out there. And Reinsdorf had said pre-ST he’d be in CF. Poor decision.

I think i did this wrong. Oh well…..delete my votes as they all suck anyway.

SWISH SWISHES

the poor lost soul has 2 different stances depending on which side of the plate he is on.. NEITHER is working with any degree of success.. they finally figured out he is lost-in-space.. but they’ll run him out there again rather than give ANDERSON a chance.. but someone will, make no mistake about that.. & he’ll probably be one of the first to go.. a shame.
