Obviously I was wrong about saying Frank would have been better than Thome this year. My point was Frank carried sub-par teams while Thome was surrounded by protection his whole career. As far as Thome being more clutch than Thomas (your argument?) not even close buddy.

the difference between the two is that frank thomas was a better player.
largely because he’s more well-rounded – i.e., could hit both righties and lefties with basically equal aptitude. jim thome’s numbers are not as impressive in late innings because he has a weakness – one that appears whether it’s the first or the fiteenth – against lefties. in late innings, thome is more likely to face a lefty. hence his lower stats. duh.

I still don’t see how him hitting lefties has any relevance to a guy failing in september 2 times with the white sox now. Ok maybe not FAILING but not being his average or above average self. In 2000 one can argue that Frank carried that team all season whether he was raking righties or lefties. Do more lefties pitch in september?

very heated battles before with out other members of the board jumping in (well sometimes). I respect his opinion but, sometimes I don’t feel that respect is mutual. You can not discredit someone’s evidence because you do not believe in being “clutch”. That would be like arguing over whether god exists. I showed him my evidence and he chose to discredit it. Therefore, there was an SSH style attack.
