Around SBN: Phil Mickelson Outshines Tiger Woods

According to the Pythagorean standings, the Angels' Mike Scioscia and Houston's Cecil Cooper were the best managers in the majors this season. They had ratings of +12 and +9 respectively.

The worst were the Toronto combination of John Gibbons and Cito Gaston and Atlanta's Bobby Cox, at -7.

The rankings show managers decided only one playoff race—the AL Central. Minnesota's Ron Gardenhire was a -1 compared to Ozzie Guillen's zero, and without the difference the Twins would have avoided a one-game playoff.

I am really looking forward to Phil's

off season grading of all the teams based solely on players lost vs. players acquired…

Way to go danks

bitch can’t throw more than 130 innings a season? Trade him. He has no balls

Phil Rogers is one hell of a sportswriter.

I’ve been reading him exclusively since Mariotti left town. No one grades team moves better than rogers though….

I’m really excited to see that we found Jerry Owens in our farm system. – like he would be somewhere else…

I am going to ask you one time, and i'm gonna ask you nice. Where the fuck is Ringo bitch.

I'm not arguing his value

I think that it’s going to be a quiet off season when Kenny is letting nuggets like that go out to the press.

I don’t think that we need to clean house, we won the central. I just feel like we need some serious turnover. I know that Dye caught almost everything that he could get to last year, it just doesn’t seem like he gets to much. Q is unbelievable with a baseball bat in his hands, but to me seems a very average left fielder. Plus Arm, average to + speed, average read on balls.

I guess what i am getting at is that i am hoping the team will focus on D. I think that all 3 of our open positions should go to plus defenders. CF, 3B, 2B.

I am going to ask you one time, and i'm gonna ask you nice. Where the fuck is Ringo bitch.

happy birthday to everyone's favorite mercenary!

thanks for continually padding your stats, calling the official scorer, pissing off dye by stealing third, creating weird graphs that chicagopete posted, fucking with getz by throwing the ball from his first hit into the stands, having sex with joe cowley’s wife, and all the other great things you did.

by larry on Nov 2, 2008 8:58 AM CST reply actions

I was happy when we got this guy.

Now i can’t wait for him to leave…

i do think it’s funny that he banged cowley’s wife…

and that’s a sweet shirt….

whoosh

The movement was so devastating that television announcer Hawk Harrelson called it "the Doomerang," saying that if Day had enough distance to work with, the pitch would eventually come back to him.

well cowley banged count's wife

so what goes around, comes around

I think Contreras has trouble locating because he’s blinded by his tears for Pablo

Announcer: [A fan] from Frederick, Maryland, wants to know why you don’t go out and get some more team speed.

Weaver: Team speed, for Chrissake, you get BLEEP god damn little fleas on the bases getting picked off trying to steal, getting thrown out, taking runs away from you. You get them big BLEEP who can hit the BLEEP ball out of the BLEEP ballpark and you can’t make any god damn mistakes.

PS colin, if you are watching, sorry we had to be the one to put the nail in the coffin yesterday.

well hopefully you saw what i've been talking about

there are some epic concerns on defense. if we had competent safeties OR linebackers (not even both), this would be a pretty good defense because the defensive line is so good. so it’s too bad in that sense. it was exciting seeing Minor make the most of his opportunities. he’s finally doing what it’s looked like he had the opportunity to become. he’s got that size that i love watching in tailbacks, but his burst is good too. he’s not the hero mike hart is, but it’s largely because he hasn’t had the chance. as bad as the lines hart played behind, we have somehow reached a more desperate nadir. his enthusiasm despite that is really cool.

as far as i know, mlb has brow-beaten everyone into putting it on their cable lineup.

it’s not going to be on basic but it’s going to be on whatever your cable service calls basic plus or whatever. you know, if you get like 70 channels or something this will be on it. i imagine most people on here have such service. i’d guess you’ll start seeing ads for it within the next month or so which will tell you where it will be on your cable system.

"[Our new product] is a revolutionary advancement in golf tee time technology," said Harry Ipema, Co-Founder and President of Fore! Reservations. "Two months ago our programmers told me that it would take twelve months to develop it. But it took one sixth of that time - we've had a programmer who has really been focused recently."
