White Sox GM might consider dealing Dye
In his attempt to field a younger and quicker team for the future, White Sox general manager Ken Williams and high-level staff members currently are evaluating talent at the Arizona Fall League.
Williams' standard method is acquiring at least two prospects for any front-line major-league player, such as John Danks and Nick Masset in the Brandon McCarthy trade, and Gavin Floyd and Gio Gonzalez for Freddy Garcia two years ago.
That procedure apparently remains in effect, as Williams is scrutinizing prospects for deals that include right fielder Jermaine Dye, according to two National League scouts. ...
... Regarding Javier Vazquez, one scout doubted any talks involving him and the New York Mets would crystallize until the Mets resolve their closer issues. ...
... SI.com reported Williams was listening to offers for closer Bobby Jenks as well as Dye and Vazquez.

I'm not surprised at Dye and Vazquez, but I am with Jenks
I could care less if Vazquez left, I’ve pretty much jumped on the he’s a choker bandwagon. I love Dye, but he is getting older and we really do need to get more young players in the organization. The Jenks thing confuses me though.
I understand that Jenks has seemed to regress in some ways, but despite all the peripheral stats he usually gets the job done. I just have to wonder who in the world is going to close then? Jenks is pretty damn young yet. Thornton perhaps? Is this a sign that Williams thinks jenks is falling wont have a very long career? Or are we about to enter the dreaded rebuilding mode? That wouldn’t seem very Kenny like.

Time to Deal Jenks??
It might just be the perfect time to deal Big Bobby. He is going to get a substantial raise in arbitration, his peripheral numbers (and the naked eye) suggest his stuff is not what it was, and his body type does not suggest a long career of sustained performance. Closers are funny animals and you never know where one will come from. Look how we got Jenks. Maybe Thorton or Dotel holds that spot for a year or two. Maybe Poreda is going to be the closer. Maybe somebody we don’t even know about. If you need Jenks to improve the positional holes that the Sox have I think you have to look at dealing him now.
