no. that's not true.
if he signs with a team before the deadline to offer arbitration, the sox get the compensation. i’d say it’s a pretty safe bet that cabrera will sign before that deadline. this is a non-story.

Cabrera may not be wanted back even for 1 year
last week I was sure KW wouldn’t give away swisher for the bronx 3 stooges
