Mets still not ready to deal Fernando Martinez
[Mets GM Omar] Minaya always has refused to label any prospect "untouchable," but he kept Mike Pelfrey off the table last year at this time and he seems ready to do the same with Martinez. With the Mets connected to numerous reports involving White Sox outfielder Jermaine Dye and closer Bobby Jenks, it was not surprising to see Baseball Prospectus suggest that Minaya was discussing a "blockbuster" deal that could bring both to Flushing for a package centered on Martinez. But a person familiar with the situation said yesterday there was "nothing there."

Dye has no trade rights...
to the mets doesn’t he? Have we all forgot about this? I think JD and Bobby will be back with the sox next year, and now that viruses of anti-freddy, and “I wish i were a mascot” are gone and KW replenished his far somewhat :/ he will use his new farm hands to help harvest a larger trade, ie Brian Roberts or a center fielder/leadoff type. I think what we got back was not what we need, but what some other team needs. I mean jesus chiristos how many infielder prospects do we need? We have the Missile, Fields,Getz, Nix, Lilibridge, Beckham, Viciedo, Gilmore, Allen, and Shelby and we have skinny uribe to help plug it up even more. Not to mention if Flowers turns in to the 1b/dh type every one says he is going to be. And what if OC the faggot accepts arbitration because he knows hell get more next year with a thinner ss market. All I am saying is Kenny has to have something up his sleeve or he just wants to destroy in the minors by having an over abundance of players for limited playing slots. I expect Dye and Jenks to stay put. I hope I don’t want to relive a Koch like season X_X
