THT Fantasy: What can we expect from Carlos Quentin in ‘09?
Will Carlos Quentin's injury factor into his 2009 fantasy baseball production, or was '08 a fluke?

he thinks the .280 babip should come up, but seems to think the slugging will drop by .50.
i’m not ready to make my prediction for q!‘s 2009 season, but i don’t see the regression, at least to the extent that others are predicting, being a factor.
Cashing checks and having sex.
I think a lot of the regression is due to lack of track record
I realize Q! put up some stellar numbers in the minors which would indicate that his numbers last year weren’t some great fluke, but I think a lot of people that are trying to predict what is ‘09 will look are hedging their bets since he doesn’t have a long track record of success in the majors, and plus there’s always the chance (oh please God, no) that he gets hurt again

and he may get less protection
in the line-up if dye is gone

I wouldn’t call Dye a whole lot of protection for Quentin.
If they find a way to get Fields into the lineup, he’d be better protection, anyway.
babip?
Who cares about babip?
Hopefully, KW will be able to deal Quentin for an ace pitcher while Quentin’s stock is way too high, but since there are not rumblings in the least I’ll have to predict that he’ll hit about 10 homers and be finished by the end of May.
Brad says Q! will be better
OF Carlos Quentin, White Sox: from undrafted to No. 14
The same goes for Quentin, who was likely a free agent pickup in most leagues last season. There’s not much concern about Quentin being a one-hit wonder since he was such a highly touted prospect with the D-backs, so we’re expecting him to improve on his ’08 season, which was cut a month short by a wrist injury.

The greatest trick the White Sox ever pulled was convincing their fan base that "Ozzieball" ever existed.
