What recession? White Sox ticket prices going up
Meanwhile, Sox season tickets will go up $1-$2 per game depending on seat location, according to a spokesman.
Said the spokesman: "Several years ago, we began a policy of nominal annual increases instead of holding steady for many years and then making a large jump. Feedback is that this strategy is easier on the fans over the long term, and it allows us to plan more efficiently. Our fans also understand that revenues we generate, from tickets or other sources, go right back into making the team competitive, primarily in payroll."

Thanks for clarifying this, Cheat:
Upset Over Higher Ticket Prices? Get Used to It.
William C. Rhoden, of the New York Times, wrote last week that “the Yankees, who had a major-league-high $209.1 million payroll this year, offered pitcher CC Sabathia a 6-year deal worth at least $140 million, which would make him the highest-paid pitcher in baseball history.”
No surprises here. I mean, the man has only .50 and the Yankees and BoSux have $2 each.
