wha?
92    73    88    75    95    Yes    MediasBlancas

excuse me, good sir. may i please ask what it is that you are smoking and, if you can oblige, where it was that you procured it?

95 wins? this team? in this division? in this league? wow...

May you eat your words...
at the end of the season!  Is there no room for a little optimism?

a little room
but i would peg "optimism" at pretty much the 90 mark. 95 just sounds a little out there (to me, at least). of course, i would gladly eat my words with a heaping helping of deep-fried crow, followed by a giant slice of humble pie if it meant the sox won 95 this year.

besides, i wouldn't be a fan if i weren't detracting the team and assuming failure, right?

Interesting Standard Deviation
The standard deviations, with the Sox being by far the greatest, seems to say that we have an easier time generally agreeing on what all the other teams will do.

Like lots of others, I'm just hoping for a little above .500 for the Southsiders...

I did delete a Royal Douchebag
who listed 162 wins for the Royals and zero for all others.

just from memory
those projections seems to be pretty much in line with other predictions for the indians, royals, and tigers. but there seems to be a optimism (fear?) regarding the twins, too, who have a good deal more wins, just like the sox, in this projection.

Inflated
Some of those numbers are virtually impossible since the teams play each other so much.

Here are the number of wins by the AL Central over the last six seasons: 404, 421, 402, 385, 370, 366.  That is an average of 391 wins total by the division.

10 people had combined wins over 421 and not a single user predicted less than 400 wins (whitesox matt).

410-420 seems about right.

That would've been nice to know at the start.
I dropped my numbers down twice thinking I had given out too many wins.  I ended up at 401.

the west is going to be atrocious
considering the way angels pitchers are dropping, it may actually end up being top to bottom atrocious. i agree, though, that predicting much more above 410 or 415 is a stretch. thinking back, i probably should have lopped a few wins. but i wanted to give the royals some propers.

Your names are all reserved
It's a simple self-explanatory process. That's easier to complete once the site is up... Just read the introductory post (when it's up) and you should have no problem.

This division should be interesting
The Tigers are loaded offensively, but their pitching looks suspect.  The Indians are solid, but how many times have you seen a cocky team stand completely pat during the winter and then fall on their faces?

The current Sox look a lot better defensively with Crede @ 3B and Uribe @ 2B instead of Fields and Richar - and Anderson might sneak into CF if Owens gets hurt.  Hey, if the pitching goes crazy (big if) this division might be ripe for the plucking.

This from a guy
who predicts 75 wins?
Was that a ground out to 2nd for Owens?

My head says 75,
my heart says...WORLD SERIES, WOOHOO!  First day of spring, 8" of snow on the ground, fireplace is roaring first thing in the morning - baseball fever baby, catch it!

Detroit
How old are the Detroit Orioles again?  Ooops, I meant Tigers, Freudean slip.  If they make a Thirtysomething movie, it will be about Detroit.

How many grounders to left will sneak part a slowing Edgar and an enlarging Miggy?

There's a 30% chance Detroit just explodes and burns to the ground at 72-90.

Really late to the Party

Sox 62-100
Indians 92-70
Tigers 83-81
Twins 83-81
Royals 70-92

Sox continues its decline from first to worse due to inept front office, Ozzie, old players and no minor league prospects.. Paulie, Dye, Thome, A.J., Owens, Contreras will break down and no one from the minors to replace them adequately - very similar to '07.
