I participated
Crede was the toughest decision for me... Prior to the back injury he was an easy bet to put in the "excellent" column. But now, I just don't know.
What did you guys put for Thome?

i'll be interested in the results
but since i think this is a largely random "skill" i've never paid any attention or given much thought to it - unlike, say, fielding. so i'm thinking i should disqualify myself from participating.

It's a 5-man race to be sure: Thome, Konerko, Crede, Swisher, Dye. You guys have 4 excellent hitters, plus Crede who you seem to love.
Keep voting guys, as this is the team that will be decided on the last day, unlike say the Mariners (Ichiro).

Well from 2004-2006, Crede was pretty much the Sox undisputed king of clutch... I don't remember where the link was but over that period (or something similar) he ranked only behind Papi and Marco Scutaro (yes, you read that right) in walk-off type hits.
Add in some 2005 post-season heroics, including a ALCS game 2 walkoff, and there's a pretty good anecdotal reason for Crede ranking among those who have better bats.
