Upgraded just because I'm having fun
Nicely tagged as well... Though the second Jerry Owens is redundant. You only need to tag them in the specified player area.

You're welcome
Gotta feel this stuff out by the time CC opens up.
I really hope this means Anderson is the CF on opening day, and not Flash.

big surprise here
i'm shocked - shocked! - to find out that a player who relies on speed would be nagged by an injury such as this.

It's ironic
I was recently arguing with a friend that JO could give the Sox what Podsednik did in '05. Apparently he is going to give them what Pods gave in '06 and '07 first.

We can make up our own tags?
If so, that's outstanding. For this one, I would've went with something like "Hans Moleman Related Injuries" or "OUCH MY GROIN!"

hey, Cheat:
can we "rec" a headline? I mean, you know, maybe like a pushbutton version of keeping one's fingers crossed?
of course this is only good news if Swisher assumes the leadoff (cough) position.
Next time, Bhoov, do some research.

I know.
I tried to post a comment and kept getting error messages. But as long as you're here:
does the "universal sign- in" mean cub fans or other trolls can post with impunity? Could some recent posts be from them trying to stir the $&@! so to speak?
Next time, Bhoov, do some research.

Ya know, I actually feel bad for him
As happy as I am to not see him siphoning up ABs at leadoff, it's kind of sad that a career minor leaguer was getting a golden chance to do something in the majors only to be brought down by injury before the season even starts. Tut mir leid mein lieber Jerry, aber nicht weh.

you young softiee
Id agree after the Sox are out of contention. But I at least want to see the best team possible to start the season. And, opinion only, it doesn't include Pods junior.
Next time, Bhoov, do some research.

Sweet news...
TUCSON, Ariz. -- White Sox center fielder Jerry Owens will start the regular season on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Monday, after an MRI Tuesday revealed a slight tear in his right adductor muscle.
The move means that Brian Anderson and Carlos Quentin likely will make the Opening Day roster, with Alexei Ramirez and Anderson playing most of the time in center field.
Owens said he aggravated the area while running around second on a triple in Sunday's game against Kansas City. He originally hurt his groin in an intrasquad game on Feb. 25.
The Sox are down to one decision on their 25-man roster -- selecting either Ehren Wasserman or Nick Masset for the final bullpen spot.

solid
fields over crede would be better but, overall, the roster is about what i'd want it to be, based on what we have and the injuries. let's go ehren. or, more specifically, let's go arizona: you need to light up masset.

I'm pleased to see CQ make the roster as well
Who would you like to see get the majority of the playing time between CQ, BA and Alexei in the outfield, as well as between Alexei, Uribe and even Pablo, I suppose, in the infield?

Place your bets gentlemen
I'm in Vegas all week - I'm gonna run down to the sports book and lay down some heavy action on the CWS to win the whole enchilada this year. Who's with me?!?!
Actually, I'm kinda liking the Under. This team has the unmistakable stench of major suck about it this spring.

Here's my opening day lineup with today's revelations:
Swisher 7 Cabrera 6 Konerko 3 Dye 9 Quentin DH Crede 5 Uribe 4 Hall 2 Anderson 8.......you could talk me into Ramirez for Anderson or Uribe, and, if so, that may change the order some.

sorry, only SSH has lineup rights...
And you're forgetting that Ozuna will lead off on opening day. To answer question, I want BA in CF until Owens comes back. Then, if he's earned, keep him there. No more 17 AB for BA to prove himself a "failure".
Next time, Bhoov, do some research.

That's right.
Today ,during the radio broadcast ,Farmio, who is atrocious, said Thome should play except against selected "tough" lefthanders. UH, NO, fARMIO....he should ONLY BE ALLOWED to play versus selected lefthanders, and there aren't very many of them.

I really like big Jim.
He's a great bat off the bench versus righties in the games he sits.....what would that be?....About 30% of them?

His chances of being a factor is greater
in that one late game, pivotal at-bat than it would be looking pathetic 3 or 4 times against a lefty.

I don't know
if I have ever seen a team more handcuffed by having to pay veterans their 'due' instead of fielding the best team. I mean, Crede at 3B, Dye in right, and Thome against lefties? They're only there because they've 'earned it,' while not one, let alone all three, would take place on a team run strictly by logic.
Yeah, Ozzie's a player's manager and all, but a third of the team is playing out of position or hitting when they shouldn't be. We're taking ourselves out of games before stepping onto the field.

Judging by the comments on recent posts
I'd say it looks more like a third-trimester abortion, given that it's still ST and all. Is that un-PC?

It would be nice...
if they had at least one reliever who was good for more than one inning.
Masset isn't that guy, though.

Quietly, Carlos Quentin
has raised is ST stats to .324/.351/.559 in 34 ABs.
Small sample, I know, but impressive after a very slow IIRC start.
