mlb tv - this is not good

Yo yo yo - I was just looking at mlb tv's web site, and to my utter chagrin I see that my beloved Sox (along with the Cubs & Reds) are on the blackout list all the way down in Indianapolis. Give me a friggin break man. I just spoke to them on the phone and they yep, you're SOL buddy. My wife will be thrilled, summer's with no White Sox.

Has anyone had any luck spoofing an IP address to get around these blackouts? I can't allow her this victory.

This looks like a 7-4 start, which is sweet

We got real lucky catching the Tigers at the right time. You need a lot of luck sometimes. That's why I'm worried about Thome, one of the luck pieces that need to fall into place is him staying healthy all year - he's such a huge part of this offense, if you lose him or his production takes a big dive this year you might as well forget about it.

I imagine...

that Tigers fans have got to feel about the same that we did about a year ago.

by The Jerry Royster Experience on Apr 13, 2008 2:49 PM CDT reply actions

Except

The Tigers' PBP guy is still talking.

by Sox Machine on Apr 13, 2008 2:50 PM CDT up reply actions

Home run hitters...

cost a lot of money.

The offense will heat up - that lineup is a million times better than the 2007 White Sox lineup. They'll finish above .500, I think, but I'm starting to wonder if they'll contend.

I think the Indians just may run away and hide this season.

by The Jerry Royster Experience on Apr 13, 2008 2:53 PM CDT up reply actions

The 4-7 Indians?

I'd make sure Sabathia is healthy before I commit to that. Not to mention Borowski topping out at 85 right now.

Can CC be injured?

He didn't look so hot in the ALCS, but they offered him a big extension and he turned it down. If were hurt you'd think he would've jumped all over it. He had no velocity on opening day.

Some guys

Do actually have trouble getting warm in the cold weather so I guess it's a bit early to suggest he's hurt. He's a big guy, may just need to get into season, anyone know how he normally starts out his seasons? He may just be a slow starter for all I know. I have no numbers to prove he's not healthy, just has struggled so far.

by Grinder in Training on Apr 13, 2008 2:59 PM CDT up reply actions

april is his second worst month traditionally,

although the career numbers are nowhere near these. i also have no clue whether his velocity is down, etc.

Somebody's shoved a red-hot poker up our ass, and I want to know whose name is on the handle!

We had Podstad, so ours wasn't totally unexpected

They have everything but a bullpen

if they ever get tot he sixth or seventh intact, they'll lose it then

As bad as the Tigers are

I still think I may have underestimated this White Sox lineup a bit. Juan to right field again.. have to like it.

I was going to ask

What happened with Juan? I stepped away to tell my roommate and Swisher was up.

What is that...

seven hard-hit balls, seven extra-base hits for Crede?

by The Jerry Royster Experience on Apr 13, 2008 2:54 PM CDT reply actions

Get that extension ready

I like this brand of baseball

They're scoring a lot of runs, while at the same time, not allowing any runs.

by Sox Machine on Apr 13, 2008 2:59 PM CDT reply actions

this is sick

There's like 7 guys fighting for the lead at the Masters and I can't stop watching the Sox. Too many years of shit-ass baseball, I guess.

by RoyEgan on Apr 13, 2008 2:59 PM CDT reply actions

I can't turn away either - someone give us some Masters updates please!

I am always nervous about large leads

because we frequently do not score the next game[s]
but it is surely less strain today and I can watch more Masters without regret.

With Willis on the DL

Armando Gallaraga is apparently taking his spot according to Yahoo, do we know if he's as bad as what they've already been using?

Stat of the day.

White Sox - 6
