Flashback -- April 14th, 2005
How scary was it watching Carl Everett lying in pain on the warning track? -- I've never been all that concerned about getting Frank back specifically because I felt that Jurassic was going to step up his game and be huge for us in Frank's absence. At this point in the season, Jurassic may be the one player that we can least afford to lose.
Apparently his injury isn't too serious. It was reported as bruised left scapula, and Everett is officially listed as day-to-day. I don't know if I can stress enough how important his health is to the team. -- Who would have thought they'd see that in print last year.

I just thought it would be fun to look back
The Everett comment seems blasphemous, but he really was huge for the Sox in '05, much better than his .251/.311/.435 line indicates....
Thanks to the new splits added at B-R we can see how much his performance changed as the game situation grew more critical...
HIgh Leverage -- .322/.412/.483
Med Leverage -- .255/.286/.467
Low Leverage -- .215/.290/.377
Also, I posted it because it sounds so much like what I've said regarding AJ recently.

Give me 2003 Crazy Carl...
His CF defense sucked but he was great at the plate with us after we first acquired him from the Rangers.
There is a joke somwhere
In here about believing in "clutch" and dinosaurs. But it does seem, that at least for that one season, Jurassic was clutch.
