Game 15: Gamethread #2

Quentin and Crede go deep back-to-back!

Two requests for the peanut gallery. I'm watching The Office right now, so can one of you write a recap?

And two, I've got a request from the D-Rays blogger -- I'm still calling them the D-Rays dammit -- to exchange questions.. I can answer his questions, but how about some questions for him?

Thorton as LOOGY?

I don’t think that is exactly necessary at this point is it?

by CatBrains on Apr 17, 2008 8:04 PM CDT   0 recs

dotel, linebrink, jenks

Blood has been shed, Jerry.

by Toonderstrook on Apr 17, 2008 8:05 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Me neither...

I hope Dotel is crisp

by swishit on Apr 17, 2008 8:05 PM CDT   0 recs

Just posted on other side

I think its an excellent move taking Gavin out right now if with the low pitch count.

by Tdogg on Apr 17, 2008 8:06 PM CDT   0 recs

sorry even with...

Ozzie may be the big key to his success this year.

by Tdogg on Apr 17, 2008 8:06 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Speaking of "just posted on other side."

Gotta say, Tdogg, you are THE MAN so far this season.

You were one of very few voices of rational reason during ST.

This is why they play the games, huh?

Pitching and defense.

by ballyb on Apr 17, 2008 8:09 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Well way to early to be taking bows

But even with the negatives there were some positives that offered hope. There are no absolutes. Deep down Im sure many of the half empty folks hope they were hopelessly wrong.

by Tdogg on Apr 17, 2008 8:17 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

was that ozzie or coop?

not trying to make any points, just asking

by The Wizard on Apr 17, 2008 8:16 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I put my money on Ozzie

I think he makes it a point to try and build the confidence of his starters.

Good percentage move....

Jones (in his brief cup of coffee)...has hit left handed pitching well but not righties.

D-Rays, ptui - I scoff

''It's a grinder-type attitude, energetic attitude, confident-type attitude, and if it grinds on some people, then I need to know who those people are so we can move them on''

by ChicagoPete on Apr 17, 2008 8:13 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Well, I'm going to the game Sunday, so here goes:

1. When are you guys going to start letting in fans younger than 70? (OK, can that one.)
2. Should Crawford hit 1st or 3rd?
3. Who excites you most of your SP’s – Kaz, Shields, or Jackson?

I took the "under".

by winningugly on Apr 17, 2008 8:16 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

"start letting in fans younger than 70? "

For free?

Do you think you live in Illinois?

Pitching and defense.

by ballyb on Apr 17, 2008 8:20 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

No - they comprise the whole damn crowd

I mean allow PAYING customers in under 70.

I took the "under".

by winningugly on Apr 17, 2008 8:21 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

i think he meant AT ALL...

Blood has been shed, Jerry.

by Toonderstrook on Apr 17, 2008 8:21 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Just an Illinois joke.

Pitching and defense.

questions:

1. how’s the sound system?
2. will the live rays eat food thrown in their tank?
3. something baseball-related

Can you write a recap if you dont see the whole game?

Don't want to jinx,

yet it sure looks like whomever comes in from the pen is lights out lately.

And with Johnny D and G-Flo turning it around I nominate Coop for President.

(Wait – BB by Dotel?)

I took the "under".

by winningugly on Apr 17, 2008 8:12 PM CDT   0 recs

Pretty unacceptable work here from Dotel....

Payton gets a hit fine….but that walk was ridiculous..

by stanchar on Apr 17, 2008 8:13 PM CDT   0 recs

Bend over folks

this might hurt….

by swishit on Apr 17, 2008 8:14 PM CDT   0 recs

Or

Whew.

IIRC he used to have overpowering stuff

He’s not quite there yet

Tough call for Roberts...

by stanchar on Apr 17, 2008 8:14 PM CDT   0 recs

Whew...

Those were not strikes…But I’ll take em.

by Los Soxos on Apr 17, 2008 8:15 PM CDT   0 recs

That's a circa 1996 Greg Maddux strike

''It's a grinder-type attitude, energetic attitude, confident-type attitude, and if it grinds on some people, then I need to know who those people are so we can move them on''

by ChicagoPete on Apr 17, 2008 8:16 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Why take Thornton out?

He’s hardly pitched at all yet.

Out-underacheiving the other guy.

by defensive indifference on Apr 17, 2008 8:17 PM CDT   0 recs

He and the Booner have traded roles

Thornton is now the LOOGY, Booner is the one-inning guy

I took the "under".

by winningugly on Apr 17, 2008 8:23 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

when you made your earlier rest stop joke today re: wu and SoB,

i remembered a comment SoB made before about a sandwich…SoB and larry were peanut butter and chocolate, and wu was the bread. and here SoB is the one worried about hitting the head at wrigley.

Blood has been shed, Jerry.

by Toonderstrook on Apr 17, 2008 8:23 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

That's it....

I’m not making any more damn predictions.

by Los Soxos on Apr 17, 2008 8:19 PM CDT   0 recs

If I were Ozzie....

I’d let Dotel get Mora…then have Boone pitch to Markakis….

by stanchar on Apr 17, 2008 8:22 PM CDT   0 recs
