One questionable 2-2 pitch is whatI saw

Of course, that would’ve ended it.

I took the "under".

Jenks and Logan...

There was a big difference in the strike zone for the Sox and the O’s in the last few innings. Jenks and Logan threw good pitches but did not get ANY close ones for strikes.

...and on my death bed, I will receive total consciousness. So I got that going for me, which is nice.

by thekever on Apr 18, 2008 7:39 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Jenks' called strike 3 for out 1

could’ve been called low, but it was so nasty the ump had no choice. Logan I can’t speak for because I shut down mlb.tv when he came in. (Just had a hunch.)

I took the "under".

by winningugly on Apr 18, 2008 7:57 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Yeah, me too...

In the 10th, I was flipping between the Chisox, South Park and Deadliest Catch. Those crabbers are nuts. Red Bull and cigarettes. Dean Wormer would have something to say about that…

...and on my death bed, I will receive total consciousness. So I got that going for me, which is nice.

by thekever on Apr 18, 2008 8:26 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

ugh

I watch The Office, buy Vampire Weekend and I come home to this fail party.

by shaftr on Apr 17, 2008 9:05 PM CDT   0 recs

So shouldn't someone post about Konerko being done?

I think he’s OPSing worse than Thome now…

by hitlesswonder on Apr 17, 2008 9:06 PM CDT   0 recs

He looked like crap the 1st 2 pitches

then caught up – just missed a homer by not much.

I took the "under".

by winningugly on Apr 17, 2008 9:07 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Well, the people saying that...

have already dubbed Paulie their DH extraordinaire.

Out-underacheiving the other guy.

by defensive indifference on Apr 17, 2008 9:09 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Fields

Is Fields playing any at first base?

...and on my death bed, I will receive total consciousness. So I got that going for me, which is nice.

by thekever on Apr 18, 2008 8:38 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

in AAA? why would he?

dude, that was totally not swish you saw on rush street last night. swish was at home playing xbox.

by colintj on Apr 18, 2008 9:00 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Because he would make a good replacement for Konerko

Konerko is obviously getting old. Thome is old. If the Sox are going to keep Crede (which they should), first base is a logical choice for Fields.

...and on my death bed, I will receive total consciousness. So I got that going for me, which is nice.

Up to you, Jermaine.

Pitching and defense.

by ballyb on Apr 17, 2008 9:06 PM CDT   0 recs

This guy wants to face Q!

Pitching and defense.

by ballyb on Apr 17, 2008 9:07 PM CDT   0 recs

This is where JO would actually come in handy...although

probably not so easy to steal against the lefty.

by stanchar on Apr 17, 2008 9:08 PM CDT   0 recs

Which brings up a question?

Why is Sherrill is tough? I haven’t seen him pitch much at all, but it sounds like he’s done quite well laast year and this year..

by hitlesswonder on Apr 17, 2008 9:12 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Snap out of .370 BA?

Pitching and defense.

by ballyb on Apr 17, 2008 9:11 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

no...

his 0-4 tonight

by swishit on Apr 17, 2008 9:11 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

1 for his last 8

I took the "under".

by winningugly on Apr 17, 2008 9:11 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Yeah, from over .500!

Though 1-9 is not a good trend (small sample size, of course).

I took the "under".

by winningugly on Apr 17, 2008 9:14 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Gonna be fine.

Stick with the Randall on this one.

Pitching and defense.

by ballyb on Apr 17, 2008 9:16 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Yeesh

This game has 2007’s fingerprints all over it.

by the wolf on Apr 17, 2008 9:18 PM CDT   0 recs

Solo HR's, bad D, pen blows lead?

Whatever do you mean?

I took the "under".

by winningugly on Apr 17, 2008 9:31 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

gotta win these games

We already gave one to Oakland this week

um, how so?

by onlysoxfaninboston on Apr 17, 2008 9:20 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

huh?

Now you are just making crap up.

by Tdogg on Apr 17, 2008 9:20 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I just think he went through them too quickly

but before you get all feisty…
it’s just an opinion.

by swishit on Apr 17, 2008 9:24 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Come on man

Jenks was on the hill in the 9th with a 2 run lead.

by Tdogg on Apr 17, 2008 9:25 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

juuuuuust

a bit outside

by swishit on Apr 17, 2008 9:19 PM CDT   0 recs

Big Hurt with another milestone tonight

9000 consecutive AB’s without a sac. bunt. ML record.

I took the "under".

by winningugly on Apr 17, 2008 9:25 PM CDT   0 recs

How did I do that shaded area?

No, really?

I took the "under".

by winningugly on Apr 17, 2008 9:26 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

highlight the text you want to shade

and click this button:

or push the same button and then write between the opening and the closing tags

by The Wizard on Apr 18, 2008 1:02 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Thanks. Is there a manual or something?

I am such a tech bumpkin but yearn to improve.

Thanks, Wiz.

I took the "under".

by winningugly on Apr 18, 2008 1:42 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Think the blue birds would take Thome

for the Hurt – straight across?

by swishit on Apr 17, 2008 9:27 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

pfft.

by thecip on Apr 17, 2008 9:26 PM CDT   0 recs

I can deal with hits, walk off homers etc

But walking 2 batters to lead off an inning there is just bad.

by Tdogg on Apr 17, 2008 9:27 PM CDT   0 recs

that sucks

Too bad that Linebrink, Jenks & Logan all gave up runs in the 8th, 9th & 10th.

by shaftr on Apr 17, 2008 9:27 PM CDT   0 recs

sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit

Boy, that really sucked

''It's a grinder-type attitude, energetic attitude, confident-type attitude, and if it grinds on some people, then I need to know who those people are so we can move them on''

by ChicagoPete on Apr 17, 2008 9:29 PM CDT   0 recs

Dang guys I leave for the Office

and then I go for thai food and BAM! the game is still going on because Bobby blew up? I think I karma’d that one for us.

dude, that was totally not swish you saw on rush street last night. swish was at home playing xbox.

by colintj on Apr 17, 2008 9:29 PM CDT   0 recs

Up 5-2 in the 8th against the effin' O's

No way you should lose.

I took the "under".

by winningugly on Apr 17, 2008 9:29 PM CDT   0 recs

Bobby gave it up

and he’s been deadly. Just one of those things.

dude, that was totally not swish you saw on rush street last night. swish was at home playing xbox.

by colintj on Apr 17, 2008 9:30 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Bad, bad, bad loss.

Let me count the ways.

Pitching and defense.

by ballyb on Apr 17, 2008 9:31 PM CDT   0 recs

defense blew it for us

first three run unearned. konerko’s error led to two and aj’s throw led to the third

the game would have been won without those two

by The Scoper on Apr 18, 2008 12:04 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I blame the Wizard

for watching ‘the Office’ instead of our Sox.

You cant win em all.
But they really shouldve won that one.

Floyd for President

by e-gus on Apr 17, 2008 9:33 PM CDT   0 recs

it sounds like Cheat, Wiz and I all made that play.

dude, that was totally not swish you saw on rush street last night. swish was at home playing xbox.

by colintj on Apr 17, 2008 9:42 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Gotta learn from this game.

Gotta kick the shit out of the Rays.

Important series coming up. Think it will speak to the Sox stuffings, yea or nay.

Pitching and defense.

by ballyb on Apr 17, 2008 9:35 PM CDT   0 recs

unlike the O's rays have lots of good baseball players though

should’ve have that one dammit

I hadn’t realize we were up 5-3 in the 9th with 2 outs and a 0-2 count as colintj’s screencap shows…

by The Wizard on Apr 18, 2008 1:08 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I think we're all going to get a wake-up call....

over the next six games. I foresee a tough weekend in TB…then the Yanks come in.

by stanchar on Apr 17, 2008 9:35 PM CDT   0 recs

Calm down

Its not like they have been lucky to win. The starting pitching has been outstanding lately, as has the defense before tonight.

by Tdogg on Apr 17, 2008 9:37 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Keep it up, Tdogg.

Pitching and defense.

by ballyb on Apr 17, 2008 9:39 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

We split vs probably the two worst teams in the AL

You gotta stomp these jamokes, you’re not going to be making up ground vs. NY and Boston.

''It's a grinder-type attitude, energetic attitude, confident-type attitude, and if it grinds on some people, then I need to know who those people are so we can move them on''

by ChicagoPete on Apr 17, 2008 9:39 PM CDT   0 recs

Jamoke is a great, old-school word.

Finally I concur.

I took the "under".

by winningugly on Apr 17, 2008 9:40 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Have you looked at their lineups?

Jeez – should be no contest. And we kicked it away tonight. Good teams put the hammer down.

I took the "under".

by winningugly on Apr 17, 2008 9:45 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Is this serious? Lol.

Good teams have bad games also. They play 162. Its not a 16 game NFL schedule.

by Tdogg on Apr 17, 2008 9:47 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Which is it?

A bad game, or as you posted above, Jenks on the hill with a 2 run lead? At least be consistent.

I took the "under".

by winningugly on Apr 17, 2008 9:49 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I confused.

They gave up 2 unearned runs. It was a bad end of the game they had a chance and should have won. They didnt. Are you arguing good teams never have bad games? Get serious

by Tdogg on Apr 17, 2008 9:53 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

3 unearned runs.

Pitching and defense.

by ballyb on Apr 17, 2008 9:54 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

3 unearned runs

And considering they had the best AL record coming in to tonight I think maybe you should lighten up.

by Tdogg on Apr 17, 2008 9:54 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Pitching and defense.

by ballyb on Apr 17, 2008 10:19 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

"two worst teams in the AL"

who both were leading their divisions when we met them.

Pitching and defense.

by ballyb on Apr 17, 2008 9:41 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Let's see where they are when the season ends

Baltimore is horrible, Oakland not far behind.

''It's a grinder-type attitude, energetic attitude, confident-type attitude, and if it grinds on some people, then I need to know who those people are so we can move them on''

by ChicagoPete on Apr 17, 2008 9:43 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Your point?

I think we all realize they wont be in any playoffs. But its not like they split with teams 0-9 and 2-7. You can’t have it both ways. Detroit was playing bad. Oakland and Baltimore have played decent.

by Tdogg on Apr 17, 2008 9:45 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

brian roberts, nick markakis, adam jones, luke scott

yup, a bunch of clowns. even clowns hit sometimes. or pitch. welcome to baseball. everybody makes a run, if only for a few weeks.
