Owens reinstated, kept in Charlotte

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- In a move that reinforces the faith in their current makeup of their roster, the White Sox reinstated outfielder Jerry Owens from the 15-day disabled list Friday and optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte.
...
The move means that the Sox will continue to use Brian Anderson as a backup outfielder and Alexei Ramirez as a backup outfielder/infielder. Manager Ozzie Guillen indicated Thursday night that Ramirez could start a game at second base in the future.

Best news I have seen in awhile...
Anderson is a better fourth outfielder than Owens for defensive purposes.
