I think the Sox are
Guided By Voices, but obviously this Phils dude and I are working with different reference points
dude, that was totally not swish you saw on rush street last night. swish was at home playing xbox.
I can't argue with Zevon.
Simply for the line in "Werewolves of London":
I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's.
His hair was perfect.
So yeah, I'm liking the choice.
slight tweak to lineup for tonight
per reifert:
Lineup: Swisher, CF; Cabrera, SS; Thome, DH; PK, 1B; Dye, RF; AJ, C; Ramirez, CF; Crede, 3B; Uribe, 2B. Vazquez pitching
the law of conservation of masset: no matter how much masset you use up, there is always masset in your system.
Can we discern anything from this lineup?
Ramirez is quite obviously our starting CFer until he isn't anymore. He moves down a spot.
Is it because he looked pretty terrible in three of his plate appearances Monday, or is it just Ozzie recognizing a platoon advantage for Pierzynski? And if it's the latter can we get him to more readily notice that same advantage/disadvantage for other players to optimize the lineup?
AIM: SouthSideCheat
i'd chalk it up to platoon
AJ probably should have been even further down on monday than he was.
i think this is your against righties lineup.

Ramirez in CF
Ozzie is clearly of the opinion that infielders make better outfielders than outfielders do.

Cubs, Sox Still Like Crisp
[MLBTR]:
Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe writes that the Cubs and White Sox "have shown the most consistent interest" in center fielder Coco Crisp. Nothing appears imminent, as the teams haven't found any kind of match on players. Cafardo says the Cubs have found the asking price prohibitive. A week ago, Peter Gammons suggested Sean Gallagher and/or Matt Murton could be in the mix.The Cubs are currently using Felix Pie and Reed Johnson in center; the White Sox used Alexei Ramirez there on Opening Day. As the season progresses we could see the Sox try Nick Swisher, Brian Anderson, and Jerry Owens out there.
Crisp himself named the Cubs, White Sox, A's, and Padres as clubs he's heard rumored for his services.
I doubt a Crisp trade happens.
It seems like the Red Sox overvalue Crisp as much as the White Sox overvalue Crede.

This makes no sense...
There are too many CF options for the White Sox to want Coco Crispie -- Ramirez, Swisher, Anderson, Owens. Trading Quentin for Crisp would be retarded. Even traded Anderson for Coco would probably be stupid at this point. I don't see this happening either. Sounds like Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe is trying to strum up interest in the bum.
Ahh Hyperbole
I'm so not a fan of Crisp, but Anderson for Crisp would be fine by me. I don't see how that could be seen as stupid.
The Sox have a hole in CF going forward unless Ramirez turns out to be that guy (which I don't see). I would not be shocked if the Sox acquire Crisp at some point. I wouldn't be excited about it. And if it costs the Sox Quentin or Poreda, I'd actually be unhappy.

Thankfully...
the Sox can't trade Poreda until June, so that can't happen in the near future, at least.

According to Gameday...
Riske is bringing it up there at 84-86 mph. He's still getting the job done, though.

if only he could bring it like masset, he'd be a valuable guy to offer arbitration to and keep in your 'pen.
