he said “thx for your patience, this will be fixed when the Dems have a nominee”.
Confusing, especially when he signed it “The Great Orange Satan”.

From tech:
We are slowly bringing blogs back online and monitoring their impact
on server load. Specifically, we’re trying to prime the pump on our
caching engine so that we can reduce the load on our database. This is
necessary if we are to bring the whole network back online. It’s a
slow process as we test everything out. We’ve cautiously brought some
of the newly upgraded hardware into the mix and are watching for the
errors we encountered yesterday. I still don’t have an exact timeline
for anyone, but we’re making progress on resolving this outage.Hopefully no one will be looking at the downtime message much longer

Cheat...
I don’t know if you noticed, but a certain baseball-reference team page from a certain “special” season is currently on sale for $40 bucks. I don’t want to get on an emotional ‘soapbox’ here but that’s not right—that bunch needs a sponsor.
So two questions… is this ‘diary’ worthy (I’m fairly sure the answer is yes but I’ll pose it anyways) and how would we go about collecting the cash? Not that $40 is a huge amount by any means but I think it’d be neat to have the SSS community sponsor it.

I've Been Calling
for this lineup for a while now. I thought it might not happen with Uribe’s 2 RBIs on Tuesday, but I think this provides us some nice speed at the bottom of the lineup with Alexei. I know he’s not experienced, but right now we don’t have a spot for Owens and Uribe isn’t doing SHIT at the plate, so Ramirez can’t do much worse. As for the fielding, we’ll have a better idea on his skills @ 2nd after tonight. But I AM happy that this lineup is finally being used…

Slow pitching and the Sox
With Sonnanstine, Tampa, and Musina last night it occurs to me that the Sox should have batting practice with pitchers who pitch in a similar manner. I wonder if they ever try
that. We cannot be this poor hitting against 70-85 MPH pitches, or can we? I hate to say this but shouldn’t the Hitting Coach have some method of teaching the hitters to adjust.

Hmm, I got tix for tomorrow's game...
I didn’t like that forecast. :(

doesn't hold up for stolen bases...
30 – 54 in games without an attempt last season… Which means they were 42-36 in games with an attempt… But that was a more mobile team (who couldn’t hit) Pods, Erstad, Owens…
They were 5-33 in games with an IBB though.

Guillen's teams have a 27-124 record
in games in which they’ve issued an IBB.

which could be more a reflection of the fact that the sox are
already in enough trouble to think about IBBs, regardless of what happens after that.

which means
His teams are 328-189 when they don’t issue an IBB

I'm fading fast here, long day
We’ll probably see MacDougal after the delay anyway, I don’t need to see him throwing 50 pitch innings vs. the Yankees.

Bonderman 7BBs in 4.2
And Leyland showing MiggyCab who the Big Bossman is – keeps batting him 5th even with Sheffield out, and now he shows him the back of his hand by moving him to 1B.

in hell that Alexei might get more playing time over Uribe? I mean, he DID almost have a triple, something that Uribe will never get barring he dosen’t shake all the outfielders to the ground with his earth trembling weight.
