Is there a chance in

hell that Alexei might get more playing time over Uribe? I mean, he DID almost have a triple, something that Uribe will never get barring he dosen’t shake all the outfielders to the ground with his earth trembling weight.

Well

The other one just ended, figured no one would see it.

toonder… I wonder if you talk to people like this to their faces?

by Where Triples Go to Die on Apr 24, 2008 11:19 PM CDT up reply actions

yes, i would tell someone they didn't make sense

if they said that juan uribe could never hit a triple, considering he’s hit more triples than orlando cabrera (career and every year since ‘01) and a lot of other guys.

Blood has been shed, Jerry.

by Toonderstrook on Apr 24, 2008 11:21 PM CDT up reply actions

if people want to bash uribe, that's fine.

but they should at least do it about stuff that actually happens, you know? not that he’s so fat he can never hit a triple.

Blood has been shed, Jerry.

I know you aren't talking to me

But was the point of contention that OC’s glove is average? I’d have to go along with you there. And it is frustrating to have traded Garland for a SS and still have Uribe in the lineup and have the best SS on the field at 2B. But if the Sox get 2 picks, at least that’s something….

by hitlesswonder on Apr 24, 2008 10:25 PM CDT up reply actions

The point is that his glove was below average two years ago

Perhaps my standards are low…but Floyd giving up 5ER in 6 against New York with the rain delay really isn’t bad. Sure I’d like more, but this was a typical AL 5th starter outing. I’m happy it wasn’t worse.

Now I await the bullpen gving up 9 runs in 3 innings…..

So how long until Ozzie benches Urine for the Cuban Missile Crisis?

Uribe actually looks like he is simply hacking as hard as he can at every pitch and guessing fastball everytime. He is missing pitches by half a foot. If the Sox aren’t going to send Ramirez down to AAA to play everyday, may as well see what he can do at the big league level at 2B. But now with Dye out for a few days (possibly longer), Uribe will likely stay at 2B and Ramirez will get more time in CF. I hope to God they don’t call up Owens.
