nope

thankfully, i've been overly productive since sunday so i've banked enough for about the next two weeks. you still a slave to the billable hour, or whatever may be the equivalent, with the govt?

Big start...

for Contreras and the Sox. If Contreras gets his shit together (along with Danks realising his potential), the Sox might have the ghost of a whisper of a prayer this year.

by The Jerry Royster Experience on Apr 4, 2008 11:14 AM CDT   0 recs

Also...

it would be nice if the Sox could hit a lefty today.

they like robertson

exception to every rule, no?

Tigers are ripe for the plucking

Would be nice if Contreras had it together today.

Why JRE...

That almost sounds like optimism. Somebody get him a doctor!

by Ryno on Apr 4, 2008 11:18 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Really.

Though he has been working awfully hard at wording his negativity in a more positive manner. I do believe he's almost there!

no sox lineup, but here's detroit

Thomas cf
Polanco 2b
Guillen 1b
Ordonez rf
Cabrera dh
Renteria ss
Rodriguez c
Jones lf
Inge 3b

leyland taking the smart path and minimizing the loss of sheffield by putting cabrera as DH (also should help his bum quad) and replacing him with inge. decent offense and excellent defense should offset a lot of sheffield's lost offense.

I've never heard of Clete Thomas before.

Is something wrong with Granderson, or is he getting an early day off?

It would be nice...

if the Sox had a backup catcher, though.

If they're not going to use Toby Hall at all (and I don't blame them for not wanting to), they shouldn't keep him around.

But that's just stating the obvious, isn't it?

by The Jerry Royster Experience on Apr 4, 2008 11:34 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

aj isn't going to sit two days in a row

toby will go against willis tomorrow.

Would be nice to have someone on base for Swish.

maybe in general

but uribe rakes robertson.

I like this lineup, or at least the players in it...

if Ramirez gets some seasoning, it would be nice to see him at 2B and batting ninth.

Those giddy Royals

are probably wishing the season would end today.

Nick Swisher's Gameday photo

has been changed to a "pensive" Nick Swisher. Will his smiling photo return should they go on a 3-game win streak?

3-1 and swings at something out of the zone, then Ks.

So, not only is Fields ruining my plan for him to platoon with Thome

But now Thome is making it look foolish as well. I'm off to a great start this season.

by hitlesswonder on Apr 4, 2008 12:14 PM CDT   0 recs

Hopefully Grandpa Cuba here

Decides to throw more over the top with velocity, than side arm with nothing.

by southsideirish71 on Apr 4, 2008 12:18 PM CDT   0 recs

Contreras is how old you think?

I'm voting there is a birth certificate in his homeland that says he is 45. There is of course a sweet hammer and sickle stamp on it.

seriously

for a second i thought gameday was frozen and contreras must have given up 4 runs already. considering the error, getting out with only 1 scored isn't too terrible.

granted, the defensive problems the team is already showing don't bode well for the future, but let's see how it goes.

by Ryno on Apr 4, 2008 12:32 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Well the side arm kind of kills the velocity

In ST he is throwing over the top more, hitting with velocity. The minute the bell rings its side arm cuban out there.

Just one run...

maybe if we can stop the errors, contreras will settle down a bit. How has he looked?? I'm only on gameday.

by boyonthedock on Apr 4, 2008 12:32 PM CDT   0 recs

In Uribe's defense (no pun),

that was a somewhat tricky play for someone new to the position, IMO.
