more likely to give up a lead at this point

with a fuck-up in the field than with poor pitching. we don't need more runs at this point.

At least for a couple years? Wow, he is nasty.

The Tigers system

has the opposite problem of ours. We cant seem to get any top prospects to come up and hit right away and the Tigers have no names who come up and hit the crap out of the ball then fade into nothingness. Which is better? I dont know.

Are you referring to Chris "The Babe" Shelton?

Among others

Like Craig "the bomber" Monroe.

by Rockraines on Apr 4, 2008 2:58 PM CDT up reply actions

Monroe was never good in the Majors or the Minors

And he was drafted by Texas. Not really sure where you are going with this.

He just hit lefties and righties stupid enough to throw him hanging sliders.

The question becomes:

can we split with Floyd and Buehrle against Verlander and Willis? I'd be very happy at 3-3 come Monday as I'm sure everyone would be.

Don't order a black & tan in Ireland

That's what the English headbusters were called that were sent in to break up the revolt after WWI, they used "extralegal" means - the Irish have verrrrrry long memories. I made the mistake once and got some extremely nasty looks up and down the bar, I had to ask a friendly civilian afterwards "what'd I do? what'd I do?"
