Bout time

to Sub in Anderson for defensive purposes. Move CQ over to RF and Swish to left.

by Rockraines on Apr 4, 2008 2:52 PM CDT   0 recs

yeah but

JD is murdering the ball

200%

if not more. Cannon and range.

by Rockraines on Apr 4, 2008 2:55 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

more likely to give up a lead at this point

with a fuck-up in the field than with poor pitching. we don't need more runs at this point.

"Aw, how could he lose the ball in the sun, he's from Mexico."

damn JD

grounding into double plays... bench him!

by boyonthedock on Apr 4, 2008 2:52 PM CDT   0 recs

Oh, for a lockdown bullpen

I'd love to have one of those pens where the other team goes "oh sit" once you get to the 7th inning.

by ChicagoPete on Apr 4, 2008 2:53 PM CDT   0 recs

too much standing for you?

"Aw, how could he lose the ball in the sun, he's from Mexico."

Linebrink worth the money?

At least for a couple years? Wow, he is nasty.

Damnit Cheat

I am at work... I can't be LOL-ing!

by CatBrains on Apr 4, 2008 2:59 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

The Tigers system

has the opposite problem of ours. We cant seem to get any top prospects to come up and hit right away and the Tigers have no names who come up and hit the crap out of the ball then fade into nothingness. Which is better? I dont know.

by Rockraines on Apr 4, 2008 2:56 PM CDT   0 recs

Are you referring to Chris "The Babe" Shelton?

"You might be impressed with your analysis, but I am not. Stop wasting my time." - Chris De Luca

by BoKnows on Apr 4, 2008 2:57 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Among others

Like Craig "the bomber" Monroe.

by Rockraines on Apr 4, 2008 2:58 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Monroe was never good in the Majors or the Minors

And he was drafted by Texas. Not really sure where you are going with this.

Monroe was never good

He just hit lefties and righties stupid enough to throw him hanging sliders.

I think the "state" of this bullpen

will help MacDougal.

'08-to-date --- 1 triple to RF against the Sox.

by ballyb on Apr 4, 2008 2:58 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

yeah

he'll look awful in comparison and be sent to charlotte. and wasserman will arrive and live up to the rest of the pen.

"Aw, how could he lose the ball in the sun, he's from Mexico."

Ya think Detroit would trade us Clete Thomas for Jery Owens?

'08-to-date --- 1 triple to RF against the Sox.

by ballyb on Apr 4, 2008 2:57 PM CDT   0 recs

The question becomes:

can we split with Floyd and Buehrle against Verlander and Willis? I'd be very happy at 3-3 come Monday as I'm sure everyone would be.

by stanchar on Apr 4, 2008 2:57 PM CDT   0 recs

it's not the best matchup, but it looks like our pen could even it out a bit

dude, that was totally not swish you saw on rush street last night. swish was at home playing xbox.

by colintj on Apr 4, 2008 3:03 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Linebrink might be kinda good.....

maybe it wasn't just Petco.....

by Tony82087 on Apr 4, 2008 2:57 PM CDT   0 recs

If he's reverses the peripheral trend

there's no doubt he'll be good. The numbers just didn't look like they were headed in the right direction

AIM: SouthSideCheat

by The Cheat on Apr 4, 2008 3:01 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Yeah, the true test is in the Cell

He's been giving up a dingers a lot more frequently the last few years

by ChicagoPete on Apr 4, 2008 3:07 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

It may have been those terrible Brewers unis

but Linebrink looks thinner than I remember from last year when he was handing the division to the Cubs. Whatever it is, he needs to keep doing it. He's looked super.

by Bull Pain on Apr 4, 2008 2:58 PM CDT   0 recs

Linebrink has some decent stuff Im comfortable saying

dude, that was totally not swish you saw on rush street last night. swish was at home playing xbox.

Al Central

Worst Closer Division?

by Rockraines on Apr 4, 2008 3:01 PM CDT   0 recs

with jenks and nathan and soria

uh, no

"Aw, how could he lose the ball in the sun, he's from Mexico."

by larry on Apr 4, 2008 3:02 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

nathan alone

saves the AL central

by boyonthedock on Apr 4, 2008 3:03 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Ah

jenks and nathan are solid, I always forget about him. Soria hasnt done anything yet.

Jones and Borowski are terrible.

by Rockraines on Apr 4, 2008 3:04 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

true

but i don't think soria is a flash in the pan. and he's come out this season guns blazing.

"Aw, how could he lose the ball in the sun, he's from Mexico."

by larry on Apr 4, 2008 3:05 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

he wont be

but he's still nothing yet.

by Rockraines on Apr 4, 2008 3:06 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

"nothing" seems a bit harsh

"Aw, how could he lose the ball in the sun, he's from Mexico."

by larry on Apr 4, 2008 3:07 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

On the Royals

thats what he gets, if he was on the Yankees he would be Joba

by Rockraines on Apr 4, 2008 3:08 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

i'm not sure how that's relevant

but okay.

even said. Wood sucks too. Matt Capps owns that division.

And even though Fireman Joe's ERA is huge and he is not dominating

He did convert 45 of 53 opportunities...

dude, that was totally not swish you saw on rush street last night. swish was at home playing xbox.

by colintj on Apr 4, 2008 3:02 PM CDT   0 recs

Linebrink looks

more like the guy who regained his K rate after being traded to milwaukee than the guy who lost his K rate in SD (although his ERA was better in SD, his K rate was better in Mil).

by bhoov on Apr 4, 2008 3:02 PM CDT   0 recs

jeez. I trusted you guys with a 3 run

lead back in the 1st thread and you blew it in 5 minutes. Glad I'm back to protect this one (maybe with help from Big Boy).

If Kenny were reading these comments right now...

with all the Linebrink love, I have a feeling he would be popping in Justin Timberlake's debut album and listening all night.

by CatBrains on Apr 4, 2008 3:05 PM CDT   0 recs

I would have had no problem...

with the Linebrink signing if it was for one or even two years. Four years seemed a bit excessive.

the fact that you know that is frightening

Multiplatinum

never heard a song on it other than "rock your body," but him naming his album "justifie" was a joke in my circles for quite a while.

A point well taken.

i'm just saying, i don't know

the thought would cross my mind. maybe it doesn't cross a major leaguers mind. but i'd rather have them thinking about my ridiculous facial hair than what pitch i'm going to throw.
