I can only imagine how many threads we would need

I would have thought board activity would have slowed down by now
Good to see some of us excited still, despite all the off-season moaning and groaning.

with the momentum they got going now
i don't see them losing again this year. in fact, i guarantee it.

I said it in the other thread
but Uribe never had to resort to that spin and mid-air throw, he'd just plant and gun it. OCab doesn't have the arm to do that, he has to rely on a quick release. I'd prefer the cannon at SS.

Wow - the calls for Uribe's head last year
seem so far away.
Front-running is fun, ain't it?
I took the "under".

I never complained about his defense, it was his offense that gagged
If he's going to be on the field anyways, the better defender should be at SS. But it's too late now, the time to do that was in the spring.

Not necessarily calling you out
but the board was rife for his head last year, and it wasn't just his offense. Many comments about his range and accuracy.
Perhaps 2B is his slot.
I took the "under".

I'd much rather he be gone completely
And we find a solid 2B, but if we have him on the field, put him where he is most effective, SS.

people seem to be thinking about uribe like they think about detroit pitching.

He certainly lost a step last year
But he looks like he's regained some quickness. Dropping 10lbs will do that. Uribe is still young, especially compared to OCab.

Uribe
Wonder if he'll get hurt at some point at second base? He seems to have trouble turning around with all that much quickness. I think his arm will make up for anything he might lose compared to other 2B's, but what if a guy comes in strong?
by Grinder in Training on Apr 6, 2008 9:09 PM CDT 0 recs
He's not smooth at all on the pivot yet
He's played 2B when he was younger, hopefully he just needs more reps out there.

Upstate NY papers don't care about the Sox for some reason.

story has to to do with a rabbit, some maker's mark, two hookers, and a wiffle bat
i can see why the papers haven't covered it.

He might stick around as a defensive substitute
The way this offense is clicking there is absolutely no need for Owens anywhere on this roster.
