Fade to pink
SEATTLE - In attempt to do something nice for charity, as well as honor Breast Cancer Awareness day on Sunday, Bobby Jenks, John Danks, Toby Hall and Nick Swisher had their facial hair dyed pink at home last week.
Well, whatever dye was used has burnt the hair off everyone except Danks. Hall’s chin landing strip is patchy, while Jenks looks like an old billy goat. The four have a new pink dye that washes off, and will use that before Sunday’s game, but for Hall and Jenks it’s back to the drawing board come Anaheim. Hall said he has to do a complete shave and let it grow back in, while Jenks wasn’t sure how he was going to repair his look.

Looking ahead
The Sox open interleague play with three games at San Francisco this weekend.http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=189082Manger Ozzie Guillen said Jim Thome is scheduled to play one of the games at first base. The designated hitter is not used at National League parks.
Thome will probably start taking some groundballs this week.
“I don’t expect him to be a Gold Glover there for one day,’’ Guillen said. “Just catch and throw. He did it good in spring training. I don’t expect him to do too much out there.’‘
The greatest trick the White Sox ever pulled was convincing their fan base that "Ozzieball" ever existed.

tough call.
if the giants’ rotation stays true, the sox will face sanchez, zito, and cain in that order. i’m sure thome will play sunday when the giants throw a righty, but konerko has been positively brutal against the previous incarnations of zito (.497 OPS in 37 PA).
Repeat after me: reading comprehension, even a little bit of thought before posting, and basic research are not signs of weakness.

Carlos Quentin finished 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and an RBI double as the White Sox topped the Mariners 8-4 on Saturday night.http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/playerbreakingnews.asp?sport=MLB&id=797&line=237247Seattle has lost 10 of 11, and changes could be on the way soon. At the very least, John McLaren’s rear end must be getting a little warm. Quentin’s big night allowed him to regain the AL lead in OPS at 1009. He passed Kevin Youkilis, even though Youkilis also homered. To think the White Sox picked up the 25-year-old for a fair Single-A first base prospect. It looked like a steal at the time, and there should be a bunch of teams kicking themselves for not besting the White Sox’s offer for a player the Diamondbacks considered completely expendable. reyes
[stark]
Assuming Zito is untradable, the pitcher out there who seems to be eminently available is St. Louis’ Anthony Reyes. But clubs that have talked to the Cardinals are grumbling that they want an upper-echelon prospect back, plus “another piece.”
what the heck do they mean “an upper-echelon prospect back, plus “another piece.” ” ? that’s crazy…
