Entering tonight, his defense converted 65% of balls in play into outs… After allowing 8 hits on 19 balls in play so far tonight, the defense has converted just they’ve dropped to 64%....

while BABIP is balls in play credited as hits

What’s the difference between reaching on a single or an error? not much, but enough to make the numbers not 1-the other related..

ugh.... that was, ugh....

predicted the blood-letting to my buddy each time the defense sputtered behind buehrle. it was hilarious that the angels put on a clinic in situational hitting after OC whiffed on his bases-loaded possible game-breaker at-bat. i would have loved AJ coming up big in the 9th (he still gets booed ridonkulously every at-bat out here, consider the grudge held), but it didn’t happen.

it was torii bobblehead night, though.
