New lineup

Is Ozzie on to something or is he just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic?

by joewho112 on May 14, 2008 8:06 PM CDT   0 recs

wait, what?

i thought garland was pitching tonight?

by thatshortkid on May 14, 2008 8:10 PM CDT   0 recs

nevermind

guess i guessed wrong on the pitcher order

It was pretty cool

Deadspin has it...

Manny

re
I think Manny was trying to steal that guy’s food.

LOL!

The greatest trick the White Sox ever pulled was convincing their fan base that "Ozzieball" ever existed.

by The Wizard on May 14, 2008 9:17 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

For those of us pining for fundamentals coaching like the Twinkies

it seems that their fans aren’t so high on the team’s defensive abilities either. The comments about their double play duo seem to echo a lot of sentiments about Cabrera and Uribe around here.

Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.

Huzzah!

OrCa magically on base.

"Walkie, you're doing a heck of a job."

by thecip on May 14, 2008 9:08 PM CDT   0 recs

Yep

Garret Anderson is still a poor outfielder—I was surprised when AJ only got a single on his flare

Happy to see ‘the black hole’ is pushed down in the order

"Walkie, you're doing a heck of a job."

by thecip on May 14, 2008 9:15 PM CDT   0 recs

How was AJ not on 2nd base on that hit?

He should’ve scored on that DP, instead he’s on 3rd now.

"The little things are always in my mind," he said. "I always like to move the guy over, I like to bunt."

AJ likes to take his time...

"Walkie, you're doing a heck of a job."

by thecip on May 14, 2008 9:16 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

ridiculous

Garrett Anderson practically fell into the stands, and on top of that he throws LH

"The little things are always in my mind," he said. "I always like to move the guy over, I like to bunt."

by ChicagoPete on May 14, 2008 9:17 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Anderson was shading him toward the line

and the ball had a spin on it such that it took a nice hop straight back towards him…

After AJ’s two double to right on Vlad the other night, I don’t think we should complain about his judgement

AIM: SouthSideCheat

by The Cheat on May 14, 2008 9:17 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

yes

thou shalt not complain about AJ’s baserunning

The greatest trick the White Sox ever pulled was convincing their fan base that "Ozzieball" ever existed.

by The Wizard on May 14, 2008 9:19 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

the ball bounced practically into the stands

and Anderson was leaning halfway over the rail. On top of that he throws LH, so he’d have to pivot to get the throw in – and on top of that he sucks and can’t throw.

"The little things are always in my mind," he said. "I always like to move the guy over, I like to bunt."

Thome looked great there....I agree with G. Walker...

With this lineup

At least every third inning we should have something to watch

I have no idea what's going on in the game

But at least I know something about andy mcphail and somoene’s dad having drugs.

by Trooper on May 14, 2008 9:27 PM CDT   0 recs

last i checked his peripherals were pretty mediocre

dude, that was totally not swish you saw on rush street last night. swish was at home playing xbox.

Nothing to regret or get excited about yet.

He’s had a good week.

I'm more afraid of that trade being looked on like the AJ to SF trade

I noticed it a couple weeks ago – was ripped on it. I guess we’ll see at the end of the season how it starts to shake out.

by Brush Back on May 14, 2008 9:38 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Gio looks like he is going through an adjustment period in AAA

He has been getting knocked around a bit & his K rate is much lower.

Not that I wish him not to have success

But I would like the trade to be in KW’s favor. So hopefully Swish works through this and I could care less what the others do (not that it matters what they do at this point anyways).

Down in Charlotte...

Crazy game -

Syracuse scored 7 runs in the 6th inning and 9 runs in the 7th (off Egbert, Day, Oneli Perez, and Matt Anderson) en route to an 18-6 victory over the Knights.

Chris Getz went 4-for-4, connecting for his 5th homer and drawing a walk.

by The Jerry Royster Experience on May 14, 2008 9:46 PM CDT   0 recs

Cabrera looks totally clueless at the plate

but it’s a good thing that a player like that doesn’t need coaches

"The little things are always in my mind," he said. "I always like to move the guy over, I like to bunt."

by BoKnows on May 14, 2008 9:54 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

The bad thing about wasting all this good pitching

is that the Sox have avoided injuries so far. If they need to call up someone like a Getz or some other chump they have in the minors…fuggedaboutit

"The little things are always in my mind," he said. "I always like to move the guy over, I like to bunt."

by ChicagoPete on May 14, 2008 9:56 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

larry disagrees with me...

But I still think that Getz is a better option than Pablo Ozuna or Alexei Ramirez, at least in the short run.

Even Ozzie Guillen has seemingly recognized that those two aren’t providing anything right now.

by The Jerry Royster Experience on May 14, 2008 9:58 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

they're all negative VORPs

put ‘em in a hat and pick one

by ChicagoPete on May 14, 2008 10:00 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

See...

I think that Getz can do what Richar did last year. Not that that’s a whole lot, but it’s something.

by The Jerry Royster Experience on May 14, 2008 10:02 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Hey, Richar looked great - uh, for a week

"The little things are always in my mind," he said. "I always like to move the guy over, I like to bunt."

by ChicagoPete on May 14, 2008 10:04 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Why rush Getz though?

I just don’t understand the immediate need for another mediocre second baseman.

Let him stay in AAA and try to figure out lefties a little.

The problem with this team is not Uribe, Ozuna or Ramirez. It’s Swisher, Konerko, and Thome.

Beat me to it - .176 vs left / .314 vs right - would fit right in

Though there is a lot of potential upside – we already know what Juan offers

Wow, great call ump

He was in good position, and O-Cab raped his jersey. Homeplate ump could have called that one.

by JoeCoolMan24 on May 14, 2008 10:00 PM CDT   0 recs

I'm pretty sure if there was a rape on the field

everyone, including the 2nd base ump, would have seen it
