Sox fan gettin uneasy about feelings for Cubs
I can't stand this but I am finding myself admiring the team from the North side. This is causing strange and nautious feelings inside my stomach. However, as a baseball fan how can you not like that guy they have in rightfield. Here's hoping they fall flat on there faces. It should be an exciting summer because I believe our Sox will surprise. Chicago has two good teams this year and the underrated Sox should be content to play possum, go about there business and just admire those northsiders for now.

I admire their offense and I am jealous of it...
It’s not fun watching our guys not score until the 5th inning and consistently ground into DP’s, strike out, and pop-up. Meanwhile, the Cubs lineup is taking pitches and waiting for the meat to come.

RE: "taking pitches"
Have you ever seen Soriano bat?

Yeah, I saw him hit two homers yesterday.

And two more homers today...
Soriano doesn’t want Quentin to be the only good LF’er in town…

i wish someone had told me that sportsnation had replaced rationality with caps lock.

I agree but I was responding to mjthor's comment...
Soriano was 5 for 5 today. I wish our guys could do that ( other than Quentin ).

Personally I like it if both teams are above .500 during the summer
It’s just more fun to see them fall from grace.

it's perfectly natural to get those funny feelings
everybody sometimes has feelings for something they’ve been told they shouldn’t. you can experiment a little, we won’t look down on you. go on ahead: wear that visor upside-down and backwards. go get good and hammered on old style and budweiser, that game didn’t need paying attention to anyways. socks and sandals are stylish, from what i’m told. who wants to go through life not knowing the pleasures that come from peeing in a trough? just get that wondering out of your system or you’ll never shake those feelings of what could have been. woo woo!

I experimented too
When I was younger. In the end, it just wasn’t for me.
I’m glad I did though, because then I could never truly appreciate what it means to be who I am.

Nate McLouth is ridiculous...
How is he so good this year?

i like it
it’s perfect. as usual, the cubs are the media darlings and the sox are not even a blip on the radar. just about all the analysts and experts picked the indians to win the central and are gonna stick to their guns all year. meanwhile, the cubs are feasting on home games (59% of their games played) as well as games vs the pirates, reds and nats (46% of their games). the cubs will likely make the playoffs again this year (their pitching is actually not bad and StL and Mil have massive flaws) but the 100 year anniversary should bear heavily enough for them to collapse—much like they did last year.

i should add..
that all the experts actually picked detriot to win the central. most have switched to the indians prettly easily (insert “hafner’s gonna get hot at some point” comment here)

Sheesh man, stop watching ESPN
I’ll admit to having paid way too much attention to media slights in the past, but I’ve found it much better to just enjoy baseball for a bit of a distraction from your everyday and be happy that the Sox are playing decent ball these days.
Who gives a crap which team gets the most coverage because you’ve got better things to do, what with hanging out with your friends, family, significant other, and your job. There’s just so much out there to enjoy.
Life is short, play with yourself hard.
(I should also add that I no longer live in the Chicago area, so it may be a bit easier for me to not pay attention than for others)
Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.

Wow, that’s a Niker slogan if I’ve ever heard one.

my weak moment was 2003
I tried rooting for them,
I was living out of state.
I genuinely liked watching Prior pitch.
The whole Sosa v McGwire thing made them easier to stomach.
I wanted to root for my home town team.
Then Bartman.
Alou freaks out.
E-6.
And I was like “Lord, please let them choke this thing away.”
And they did,
Amen.
Halleluliah.
I laughed maniacally at that pathetic excuse of a ball club the rest of that series.
Like Hazy said, it helped define who I am today.
They are pretty good this year though, in a division that is pretty bad.
And anything can happen post-season.
How great would it be if the Sox were there to stop them?
aw man.
