Warsteiner

Although that is considered a Frauenbier I’m told.

Also an excellent choice

Really, I’m happy with almost any Bavarian lager.

No, not at all...

3 is my max. I have to stay sober in case I have to drive my wife to the hospital.

I know, haha...

If my wife was drinking, my kid would come out even more retarded than me. That would not be a good idea.

Michael Lewis

Of Moneyball fame wrote an essay about his second child being born entitled “Watching my wife deliver—this time, sober”

i found that drinking heavily

made the whole pregnancy experience go a lot smoother.

she will likely be drugged up, so why shouldn’t you? it is a ‘team’ thing right?

Sam Adams White Ale

is nice, pretty much falls in-between Hoegaarden and Blue Moon. Though its a spring seasonal, so probably getting hard to find.

I tried it but I didn't like it much.

Another beer I really like is Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

I’m pretty happy with any ale, but thats one I usually keep stocked.

Tried a Hoegaarden tonight

And I was personally not a fan and I like belgian’s most of the time. Whatever, different stroke for different folks…

my favorite beer to this day is Oberon.

Were those Ks on curveballs?

Haven’t seen that at all from Logan (in my limited TV viewing).

by Trooper on May 16, 2008 11:29 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

or whatever it was, I should say I haven’t seen that over the top arm slot.

OC has had a lot of success the past three seasons swinging at the first pitch

He didn’t do it that often (~15-20% of his PAs) but OPSed well over .900. I’ve noticed that he’s taken a lot of really good first pitches (two this evening) this season and swung at some not so good ones. It’s of course a small sample and he’s batting leadoff now, but he’s only 3-23 on the first pitch to start this season and OPSing .260.

Good news from AA tonight....

Kyle McCulloch with his 3rd consecutive 6 inning scoreless stint…..just a hit and a BB tonight.

and 1 K

The greatest trick the White Sox ever pulled was convincing their fan base that "Ozzieball" ever existed.

Interesting that they are running on Molina

Apparently not as good at throwing as I thought he was….

Linebrink is earning is money like crazy...

I know he had a K there but how is he doing so well without striking out many guys like “Oh Do Tell”?

by SSH2005 on May 16, 2008 11:42 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

I'm surprised...

I haven’t paid attention to their record. Didn’t they start winning a few games for awhile there? Looks like they took a dump again.

At least we won't have to see Ozuna at 2B now...

Ozzie will probably just start Ramirez while Uribe is out.

by SSH2005 on May 16, 2008 11:53 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

I'd actually start Alexei at SS tomorrow and Pablo at 2B....

OC is 2-26 lifetime against Zito (though most of that when Zito was good).

by stanchar on May 16, 2008 11:57 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

On the other hand

Most of that was when Orlando was good.

Maybe he can have some success

against bad Zito. Getting a few hits off of someone that owned him, maybe he breaks out.

I still don't like Hawk and DJ....

but I actually think they’ve called a good game tonight.

by stanchar on May 17, 2008 12:01 AM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Ray-Ray can still hit...

Is his glove still awful?

I wouldn’t mind trading for his old ass if the Giants ate a lot of his $7.5 million dollar salary. Doesn’t seem like that much when Uribe is making $4.5 million.

Ramirez looks like he is about 15 years old...

Could he be the one Cuban player who is actually his listed age?

by SSH2005 on May 17, 2008 12:06 AM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Stat of th night (for me): Sox are 7th in runs scored in the AL

Solidly middle of the pack, just a few runs away from 5th.

Shocking.
