Inside the numbers
A deeper examination of Quentin's peripherals reveals a hitter who is coming into his own at the plate. Quentin's hot start to the season is not an aberration.
His excellent 25-22 strikeout-to-walk ratio is indicative of an aggressive hitter with a good eye and strong plate discipline. A contact rate of 82.9 percent with a batting average on balls in play (BABIP) of .300 tells us that his high batting average is sustainable and not too heavily based on luck. He is hitting more fly balls and fewer groundballs than at any point in his career, but more of his fly balls are leaving the yard.
One area of concern in Quentin's game is his vulnerability to left-handed pitching. This tendency has been evident throughout his career, and he's batting only .240 against southpaws this season. However, he has shown marked improvement this year compared to his two previous major league stints. ...

Good Summary
Doesn’t really tell us hardcore Sox fans much new, but nicely recapped his career so far.
One thing that I hear repeated over and over is that the Sox were not planning on giving Q many chances until Owens went down: is this accurate? I’m just curious as to if KW is on the record during the winter and spring on what they had planned for Q.

it seems like this spring the sox didn't thing he would be 100% and would need some minors time to finish his rehab.
i wish someone had told me that sportsnation had replaced rationality with caps lock.

PS How's the air around Boston today?
Inhaling the aroma of the aftermath of baked beans ingested, combined with a no-no last night? Don’t light a match – Hiroshima is a campfire comparatively.
Have I mentioned I don’t like the BoSux much?
I took the "under".

I hadn't gotten that impression at all ;)
I share your disdain for those whiny douche bags fans and their team. Talked to your neighbor today?
Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.

god what a hack article
I love he how references some petty Tribune “storyline” (cubs OMG OMG!) self-referentially. Do some fucking research, get some damn quotes and write a good article.

quentin vs lefites
i thinik once hes around for a coupel years he’ll have less trouble with lefty change ups which seem to give him the most trouble and then he’ll be a real force to be reckoned with
