Last in the American League in batting average was not what Sox hitting coach Greg Walker had in mind this year, but he’s not too worried at this point. ’’The culture is there to have a really good offensive team,’’ Walker said. ’’Paul Konerko is not going to hit .220 this year. Jim Thome is not going to hit .220 this year. We’re going to walk a bunch, hit a lot of home runs and hit better than .240, or whatever our average is.’‘

i don't doubt he'll regress back to the type of numbers he's put up before,

but i don’t know that his first at-bat on may 2nd is the evidence for that.

i didn't understand you meant hitting badly in general.

if you just said “crede sucks again,” i would have understood that. but you specifically referred to the pop-up and nothing else. i just didn’t know that he’d been popping up everything again recently.
